When should I change light into 12-12 ?

its my first grow :razz:

strain: Nirvana AK 48 feminized
Height 30 cm, length: 32 cm
Day 25 from seed,

18-6 light 400 Mh & 400 Hps
Temperate: 73-76 F in day, 68-72 in night
CO2 added 200-500 ppm, Rh 50-70 (when co2 in high 70%)
Cow compost & vermi compost 1/6 of soil

Please help me
When should I change light into 12-12 ?

any advice for growing can help me plaese share experiences :leaf:

not yet, i would veg longer, i know i was using cfl until i got my hps, but i only got 1oz from mine bigger than them mate :) i would veg for another 2 week then flower :) my personal opinion :) same strain as me aswel :)

people go 12/12 when they want to... you can go 12/12 directly from seed if you trully wanted too.... it depends on when you want to 12/12 :D :D im in veg of over 1 month now... im still letting my girl veg awhile longer maybe end of the month than ill flip

Veg for aslong as you would like. Throw em into flower sooner fore time and size efficiency. Let tem veg for a bigger more mature plant.

How tall do you want them to end up, or what is your max height you can handle?

Without knowing that nobody can even give a rough guess.

Yes... The height of your room dictates how tall your plant can be before you switch to 12/12. 1 third of your room height... 1 ft for the filter and fan and light, 1 ft for the pot 1 ft away from the light... What's left? An 8 ft tall room I would switch at 20"

It's all up to you. A flowering plant as a rule of thumb will triple it's size. So whatever you want. If you have the height and want a large yield then veg a couple more weeks.

That said, how are you liking the Nirvana AK-48? Did you get good germination rates?

i can handle planet to 140 cm(4.5ft) height in my room , & 50*50 cm area for any
my grow room is 2.5 m , (8 ft)

(now :15000 to 35k lux , if 3ft 15000 lux light)

but , my time is limited

Shit Sami if your time is limited why didn't you say that? You better be flipping 10 weeks prior to your time limitation to make sure they mature. Otherwise I'd grow em to 18" and then flip and train. You can keep them at 40" or below if you keep at them.

You don't wanna run out of space OR time.

Not true. At most a sativa will double and a half it's veg size at the end of flowering.

As for the other answers on here they are pretty good.

Agreed. I grow mostly indica indoors, and have never had one double in size. But admittedly I do work on keeping them trained down.

A month in veg can grow nice plants.Switch when you have a green plant with a good root mass.4-5 nodes are a good checkpoint to switch..Your garden,your calls..;)

Hence why I said "rule of thumb" and not stating it as fact. Considering every single answer in reply to questions like this has always been "double to triple". With a light in place and keeping it at the normal range within the light, you wanna leave quite a bit of room. So saying triple while factoring in the light and range within the light it's a lot better than 2x. You don't want them to flip thinking it thinking it'll double when it could go x2.5 - 3. Need a comfortable amount wiggle room :)..but yea I was factoring in the light/distance from light.

Does switching to 12/12 sooner rather then later effect the potency? I have a UVB spectrum light... Should I still flip that on the last 3-4 weeks? Thanks!
