Winterizing am I doing it right

So I ran some trim got 12 grams of bho I have some 191 everclear I put 14 fl oz in a mason jar then dropped my bho ball in it and shook it till it all dissolved... set it in the freezer and I am supposed to leave in freezer for 48 hrs then strain it in the freezer....now while its sitting in the freezer should I not shake the jar at all just let it sit and coagulate the fats n lipids n waxes or shake it every now and then ...I plan to strain onto pyrex dish with 2 coffee filters ...sound good? Let me know guys

You have some good questions.
I have not done enough winterizing to do comparisons to know which way would be best.

Here is the way I chose to do it for an iso extraction. I diluted the iso oil with 190 proof Everclear. Basically shook it up like you did. I let it sit in the freezer along with a bottle of 190 Everclear for 72 hours. I did not disturb it at all. I poured it through one coffee filter into my purge pan. I poured more alcohol into the small jar and shook it around a little and poured that through the coffee filter and into the purge pan as well. Then after it was done going through the coffee filter I poured some 190 everclear over the coffee filter to be sure I got everything. Maybe I should have done it differently. I did compare my iso extraction winterizing with iso and 190 everclear separately. The winterizing with 190 everclear came out noticeably cleaner than with winterizing with the iso.

I vaped the winterized oil and am pretty much out!! I will be making more real soon :D

Yeah your doing it right. When you dissolve the bho into the Everclear, keep it in the freezer like you have and do not disturb it. Like you said, you then filter it in the freezer.

Well I disturbed this morning but wont touch again is 48 hours fine or should I do 72...and I saw tones of shit clumping in it

I'm not being a smartass or trying to make some irrelevant point about language,
I'm genuinely interested.

How did you get to this stage?
How did you make the ball?

Is this [final?] stage -winterizing to make the ball into an oil?

Quick explanation
I'm 54 Days into flowering 9 plants
I am intent on attempting to make a concentrate from the sugar trim and wispier buds.
Everclear isn't available to Brits
but ISO 99.9% is
as is Butane.
(and we have freezers!).

Its the consistency of you dabs...last pic is most recent run the 12 gram ball and the darker splotch is the oil that didnt get purged all the way...it tastes like shit but gets u high as hell and I smoke a lot and use to smoke tons of dabs...this was made with trim that had been ran for dry ice and got like 12 grams of decent kief...which I will dissolve in ever clear also after this stuff to purify the kief more kinda green...would u guys recommend freezing kief everclear also then straining or just mix n strain

I simply just put a tea strainer with a coffee filter on the top rack of my freezer, one zip tie to hold it stead. Put my long dish on bottom and just strain. You can do other setups as well, how much do you have to work with? I do make small batches so I have a lot more space to work with lol.

And Twitch is just a bastard with his "deep freezer" and "dry ice" and "beautiful extracts" and all that crap... bastard.. lol

I understand how to strain I meant a set up that lets me strain in my freezer...I think im going to.lay 2 glat rulers across pryex dish then stand mason jar ontop of lid edges abouve pyrex dish in freezer should work

So question do u guys think it would be ok to just put a coffee filter on without the lid and leave it in the freezer so the alcohol is exposed to colder air thus coagulating for nasty stuff and the coffee filter on the top will preven anything from getting in it ...just a thought was thinking about doing this tmrw morning before I go to work

No, better to leave a lid on it from a spill standpoint and no advantage with a 48 hour soak at 0F.
