why wouldn't you grow under power lines?

are you sure he wasn't saying you grew up under power lines lol jk i am thinkin what pete is thinkin though

i grow under power lines, and i couldn't think of any reason. given i didn't think too hard :D

thx guys

:peace:

that's exactly what i was thinking, i was going crazy trying to figure out polarity and maybe a negatively charged ground, gah.

thank you ganjagoddess, you know i've got love for you

:peace:

I saw this on Discovery....sorta....but may be something to do with it in some manner. But these power lines they were talking about were big main runs and there were at least 10 of them running overhead not like the kind running in neighborhoods. But, this guy stuck florescent tubes in the ground and they all became charged and produced some light.

Hah, yee of such small brain power. ;) Power lines are shielded, and if the shielding fails, they are grounded. i'm 98% sure that the shielding was broken when that guy "stuck flouros in the ground and they lit up", either that or it was a parlor trick.

A moving current(IE electricity in power lines), gives off an electromagnetic field, which is harmless. (which also means if the power line's weren't shielded, he could just get near the power lines, and the flouros would light up)

unless you feed your plant straight iron, you shouldn't have a problem, but at that point, you have a much bigger problem than the power lines. :blsmoke:

but my plants are awfully small :?

:peace:

I vote Dad said this because of the maintenance crews and the chance that they'd stumble upon your project and report/take it.

you shouldnt grow under power lines like they said, power co comes and mowes under them all the time, and their just always over there, on the other hand I've seen experiments showing that plants under powerlines grow alot better because of the electro magnetic field.
also if you just take a floro tube and stand under the powerlines, not the small ones but the gigantor power lines they will lite up, I've tried it a few times only worked once with a big tube folro, never worked with cfls or fishtank floros for some reason.

Ah to the contrary Local Distribution lines might be shielded by plastic and carry 4kv-45kv, while Transmission Lines can be carrying 69kv-230kv and as high as 765kv in certain areas. Alternating Current at those voltages creates a very strong EMF (electro-magnetic force) quite sufficient to cause a fluorescent to illuminate.

I've actually got the walls on my house lined with led, so super cat can't watch me masturbate...... yea
