In Regards To Early Flowering In Clones...

I have never done this before and was wondering if there is a minimum to the size of pot you use.

I intend on using the smallest pots possible, but I was just wondering if there is a specific size that gets you the best results.

this is from the book indoor marijuana horticulture by george cervantes.

plant age container size
0-3 weeks root cube
2-6 weeks 4 inch pot
6-8 weeks 2 gallon pot
2-3 months 3 gallon pot
3-8 months 5-gallon pot
6-18 months 10 gallon pot

Hope this helps

No. Not at all.

I'm flowering the clones early to determine the sex of the ones I have in veg'. I want them to show sex asap. Sorry for not being clear.

I have read that the smaller the container the less time it take for the roots to develop. The roots will stretch to perimeter of container. Then the plant will grow above the soil. Inturn they will not seemingly veg as fast in a bigger pot but, they will have a better root system.

take clones and flower the ones you cut the clones from...just make sure u label your clones so you know which one is male or female...then u have clones ready to go 4 ur next batch...keep growin

i can tell you that letting the roots become pot bound in a small pot will cause the plant to stretch. that's not good even if you find out sex earlier...which i did not. (19 days to discover sex in small, almost rootbound containers.)
Nothing at all do with what I'm talking about. I don't give a flying fuck about the clones I'll be flowering early. They will be used to determine sex only, so that my suspicions of which one will be the best mother can be confirmed. I'll keep flowering them in their little containers, but quite frankly i couldn't care if they lived or died.

You obviously don't know me very well. Do you honestly think I need this information? Did i even ask for it?

At least have the decency to answer the questions asked before feeling you can give me advice I really don't need.

IMO I would use like a 1.5 gallon pot the whole way with the small clones.. probably should be sufficient.. thats around what Im using right now and I think they'll be alright
cheers

I swear... I fucking give up. Is my question not clear enough? Is it so difficult to understand that people will read their own words, 'cause they sure as fuck aint reading mine.

Why would I want to put a clone into a 7 litre container when you consider the amount of time this will take to veg' before flowering can be triggered?

I want to know what is the smallest container I can use to begin flowering? Once the clone has showed me it's sex I will burn it. Well, I won't really but I wouldn't give a flying... if the thing spontaneously combusted. get me? I just want to find my mother plant... i already have numerous plants flowering, the clones will be in a corner somewhere anyway.

Please answer the questions asked, as the rest of the info provided thus far (minus 1 or 2 exceptions) has been unneeded, and not asked for in the first place.

however, you can always use a 63/9 cycle, but never combine this with Styrofoam cups because they will NOT allow you to microwave roots later.

I have always been confused with this situation you are describing. I suppose, sooner or later you will want to pick a good mother, so it kinda makes sense. I use 16oz styrofaom cups with drain holes, then right into the 8" pots i use in my system. VV

what do you mean, jack ass...you asked if you could flower your clones early...i am saying instead of flowering your clones, flower your main plants then use the clones that were female for your next grow...obviously you dont get it...why would you wanna cut clones and then wait for them to show sex, when you could just flower the plants you have already been vegging...once those flower you can go back and remove any of the clones that were from any male plants...re read a post before you make a dumb remark like the one before..

u can use whatever size pot you wanna use...i have had clones show sex in rockwell cubes before...if your so experienced like you claim to be, why would you ask such a rookie question...smoke a bowl and chill the fuck out...you want help and then you bash people...that makes lots of sense..if you would actually read an answer instead of thinking you know everything, you might learn something...i gave you a perfect way to do it, and you said i didnt know what i was talking about, and i was right on..maybe your not asking the question right

I want to make money off my mother plant now. If I just bang her into flower she'll make me hardly anything, only the bud she yields. Whereas I can take a 100 clones off her within the next few weeks and make myself a grand. British pounds. Then the bitch can go into flower and one of her clones will take over and do the same job. The clone will of course be vegging alongside the mother while I'm taking the clones. Then, once the mother goes into flower the clone mother immediately takes over... etc, etc.

Thankyou. 160z cups. I just heard that you need 6" of downward space for proper root development. I wanted to know if I could get away with less. Hence the question; what is the smallest pot I can use to flower clones? I didn't ask for anything else. I made myself extremely clear.

The plant needs to be able to reach a certain size or the roots will simply start growing upwards if they cannot burst through the pot. Plants have a minimum size, you can't just bonsai them by putting them in a smaller pot. Since this is the case, and the plants may not respond to the triggering of flowering I was wondering if there was a standard sized pot to get the best results.

i have also had clones show sex... feminised grapefruit. These also show sex in veg. I don't believe it is a rookie question. The clones are valuable and I don't want them reverted. It is my fault though. i don't like giving out TOO much info'. I just like to say (generally) what I need to. I assumed you to know that I know, yet you don't know me... get my drift? I took offence when you were trying to offer me, what you saw as, a viable option. Sorry.

I am loving this. LMAO
I think some of these people might just be quessing and not speaking from experience.
I have read some of your other stuff skunkkushhybrid.
I think you should just go with what ever you can get that is not too big.
I can imagine that is what you have already concluded.
