grow room temp is kept between 85-90F
lights are 2 ft above seedlings

soil mix for WD, HSH1, and HSH2: 5 parts nutrient free soil, 2 parts eco coco coir, 2 parts perlite, 1 part vermiculite. It is a bad mix for seedlings, i have since then added 2 parts peat moss to the mixture and taken away the vermiculite, should make it easier on roots?

The WD was attacked by a kitten and lost one seedling leaf and one of the first true leaves. i hope it lives...

The HS clone is in strait peat moss. Can i transplant that into my soil mixture when ready?

I have been spraying HSH2 with 5ml/gal of fox farm Big bud to see if it helps, but HSH1 is growing faster in my opinion.

Any advice let me know.

Temperature seems high is there enough fresh air and ventilation? My only advice would be water everyday, maybe twice but let them dry out after. A tablespoon of Mycorrhizae granules seem to work well for small plants and seedlings.

There is a high output fan sucking air through a carbon filter and out the back of the grow tent. plus there are ventilation screen on the bottom and top of grow tent.

When watering should i soak the whole medium or just spray water until it is moist?

I am germinating 10 seeds that my friend gave me, he said they won't pop. i am determined to get one of them to work. They look healthy and feel healthy. Any ideas ?

Hi Thorax, I agree with hydrosoil. That soil blend you mixed up sounds really light and airy. So your plants are drying out and need to be watered more often. Plants need to be well watered in order for them to thrive (meaning fully watered, not just misted til moist.) Water them until the soil is fully saturated and then let the containers drain. Do this every other day, giving them a day in between to dry out a bit (but not fully), so they can develop new roots and your plants will start growing again.

Also, I'd feed them a dose of veg nutes if you haven't already. They will need it.

MJ need a light and airy medium, soil need to be fluffy and light so the root zone have access to oxygen and a PH between 6 and 7

a small seedling don't really need much food/nutrients, so a too rich soil can be too much for it, use a light seedling soil to start em in, then after a few week`s, once they have got a few leaf sets and have entered Veg you should repot em for a bigger pot with more rich soil (a rule of thump for most soil growers is to make yet another and final repot a weeks time before 12/12)

another good thing about repotting is that you can start em out in small pot/cup`s and move your way up, this do a few things, first of you can provide it with fresh soil that suits it different grow stages, secondly, its easy to over water a small seedling in a hugh pot for the inexperience grower, wile its more controllable in a small Cup, third, as the MJ plant do make its first grow under the soil before it start to make much over, it will be a way to "force" it to start to grow, this also have a nice side effect as you help the plant build up a nice strong root net for the center of the final pot

Slipon, you're right about the temps being about 15 degrees too high. That issue does need to be put into check before flowering starts (or else the buds will get stretchy from heat stress). But the main problem here is under watering not over watering. Lack of water will restrict root growth, stunt plants, and inhibit nutrient uptake. Also, his soil can't be too hot. Cuz it has zero nutrients in it at all.

Thorax, if you do a transplant into a larger container now your gonna want to water the soil really good after you've planted the transplants. Make sure to get all the soil fully saturated so that the roots will be able to grow in all the areas of the soil. Once the plants have been transplanted and the soil is fully saturated, you won't want to water them again for another 3- 5 days. Since the root system of the transplants is smaller than the container size, the plants won't be able to drink all the water out of the soil causing it to become over dry. This 3- 5 day waiting period after the 1st watering will allow the roots to spread out in the larger container as the medium slowly dries out a bit. By the 5th day, the root systems should have grown large enough to support more regular waterings (every other day or every 3rd day; depending on size of the plant and how large the container is). Remember larger containers for small plants require less waterings. But when you do water, you gotta get the soil evenly wet all the way through out the container so that roots can spread out.

I mixed 26oz of water with: 2ml of Grow Big, 1ml of Big Bud, .5ml of Super Thrive, 1ml of liquid carbon. i will start using this on HSH2 in the next watering.

Cool, glad to hear they are feeling better. But I wouldn't get as hot as 90 even with co2. Mid 80's would probably be the max. How big are you gonna let them grow to before you start flowering?

I really dont know. i was thinking once the plant is 2ft tall including a 12 inch pot, my flower room is only 5ft high and the top 8 inches are filled with stuff. Im planning on cutting some holes in the bottom of the tent to add ventilation. hopefully that can bring the temp in there down.

Oh, I was wondering because those Hawaiian strains sound like they might stretch quite a bit after you induce flowering. You might want to try flowering them at 10" - 12" so they don't overgrow your tent before they finish. As far as the temps go, adding an intake fan to compliment the already existing exhaust fan might help a lot.

feminized seeds: L.S.D, Super Lemon Haze, and Strawberry Blue
Regular: 2 more Hawaiian Skunk Haze

Put them all in a moist paper towel, between two plates. When a root shows im going to place then about an inch down into my new soil mix: 5 parts nutrient free potting soil, 2 parts eco coco coir, 2 parts fox farm ocean forest, 2 parts perlite, and 2 parts peat moss. Im hoping this soil is better than my last mix. i added the peat moss because it softer on seedling roots and holds water nicely for them.

All five of the seeds popped so I put them about 2cm below the surface an saturated the soil mix. Just waiting for them to sprout

i also recieved a pineapple chunk clone from my friend it's a super tiny clone so it may or May not make it.

Im going to water all 6 of the plants I talked about in 5 days with some super thrive mixed in to hopefully give them a boost.

I am open to any advice

Yeah, the bottom will be ideal. Just keep it on opposite sides of your exhaust location so the cold air can move through the tent properly. As far as your nutes go, I don't use those exact brands of nutrients myself, so I'm unfamiliar with the proper dosage. But it sounds like you're following the labels and that's pretty much what you want to do.

That mix sounds good to me. One of the problems I used to have with Ocean Forrest is that it doesn't drain well on it's own. But the blend you made should fix that.

Only advice I have is for the little ones. Keep an eye on the moisture level. Don't let them dry out and if you need to water them, do it lightly til they start forming roots. And be careful not to let the soil get too warm either (seedlings can turn to mush if they are too warm or too wet). Other than that, just keep us updated with pics.
