Would somebody mind running my through how to make oil or hash a simple way

freeze iso atleast 24 hours. freeze the herb and what your gonna use to grind it. along with a mason jar to fill with the then ground frozen herb..very important all is below freezing, colder the better. swap the masonjar lid with some sort of mesh to quickly separate the herb from the iso. you want to limit plant matter contact to about 30 seconds total, it can take many times that just to filter through a coffee filter...
so you filled the jar to the top of the bud line with iso, plant held back by mesh, fluid then gets filtered through 3 coffee filters..
glass Pyrex with a fan on it till it dries. when it looks dry wait 6 more hours, heat on low to warm it and scrape with a razor blade
and you have hash.

Qwizo my friend, I have a lot of respect for you and your knowledge, (you most definitely made me learn quite a lot of science behind terpenes and terpenes compounds) but please do not call dissolved resin Hash because it is not, hashish is a 1200 years old world and the definition does not describe ISO.

You could do the ” Gumby Hash” method if you don't feel the need to purchase equipment such as a few bubble bags.
I'm sure of you google that term, you'll find plenty of methods.
The problem with this method, it is not very pure, and there is just one grade of hash, some strains actually produce a great concentrate with this method though.
If you prefer oil, I second Qk's post.
I highly recommend making some hash for your first extraction (water hash)
Using a 3 bag setup.
160µ as first catch bag
73µ as your main catch
45µ to catch what's left.
Search Ebay/Amazon
I recently acquired a NICE 5 bag set that normally priced at 140$ for 27$
The yields are discouraging with water hash, but there is a spiritual connection with hashish (pressed activated hash) that one can't describe in words.
Develop that spiritual connection, and pick the concentrate of your choice.
Personally, I've been smoking a lot of hash lately to take a tolerance break from oil.
Oil WILL increase tolerance levels significantly, enough to where flowers won't cut it any longer.
Balance and diversity with concentrates and never forget about those purrrdy flowers.

Man, Dry Ice Hash is the way to go with that trim. Quick, easy, inexpensive and wayyyyyy less mess than any other way. Lots of youtube videos of dudes making DIH, check it out.

The term "hashish" commonly called concentrates obtained by mechanical methods.
The application of this name to chemical extracts is not correct, at least because that offends many naturists.

it was a serious question, what then to call a general collection of trichomes?
hash oil is not sufficient by your own definition, if you want to split it between mechanical and solvent what are the terms for throse 2 groups. if hash is pressed and sieved

I'm with the qwizoking on no bho. I've run a little 99% ISO after making DIH but it didn't amount to much, took too long and made my house smell like a doctors office. Not worth it in my opinion.

but, for the sake of the thread!!
ive never tried it, but bubble bags, and or dry sieve seem to be pretty straight forward and safe.

Definition of the two first concentrates ever made:
Charas is a psychoactive drug made from gently hand-rubbing live mature female cannabis flowers to collect the resin glands.
Hashish is a psychoactive drug made from sieving the resin glands of the dried Cannabis flowers and pressing them with a source of heat.
You extract the resin, Charas and Hashish is collected resin. There is quite a difference I would think.
You have tons of name for your extracts you could use them.

But, the Dry Ice is MUCH too aggressive IMO.
Your material literally freezes upon contact at -100° F, plant matter is smashed into dust sized particles, the gland itself freezes and shatters into bits.
Leaving a lot of plant matter into your hash.
Dry sift is awesome, but the Dry Ice is overkill IMHO.

In the past I've made a small 1' x 1' wood frame using flat pieces of wood then I attached
a piece of a very fine silkscreen to it (looks just like the screen on your window of your house) then I set it on top of a 1' x 1' wooden box.
A piece of paper inside the box catches the only trichomes and no green leaf matter when you rub some trim on top of the screen. Great way to separate the trichs from the trim/leaf.
Scrape the trichs into a pile and remove the pile from the box and put the pile into a
pan then put the pan on top of a burner on your stove then turn the flame on very low
and then gently mix the blond colored trics till the pile is just a little darker (this method releases the oils) then turn the flame off the stove and collect the oily trichs fairly quickly with whatever and put them on top of a plate or on top of whatever you want and then
press the oily tichs together with your fingers with a lot of pressure (very hard) and the pile
will turn into a solid chunk in your fingers then take that solid chunk and roll it in a circular motion in the palms of your hands till you end up with a perfect ball of killer hash.
Your Hash ball will be oil based and not water based.
Take this hash ball and put it inside a glass jar or any container and then put the container inside the freezer for about 45 minutes to an hour and you are done making your Hash! Take the rock solid hash ball and easily peel off a oily piece, smoke it and get blown away
by some real oil based Hash that tastes super killer no doubt. Believe me I know Hash very well. I have been smoking Hash for 38 years.
I've smoked everything from Blond and Red Lebanese, Black Turkish Finger Roll,
Nepalese from India, Laos etc...
I make GSC (thin mint), Blue Dream, Cherry Pie and GG #4 Hash (coming) for me and my buds.
Too cheap and easy to make great Hash no doubt.

Resin heads do not change may they be sieve dry or in water. Sieving is sieving, resin stay the same since water do not dissolve it.
Why do you put your hash in the freezer after pressing???
