I agree that everyone should be given an equal opportunity. I just don't understand why people can't admit that some may be more qualified than others.

Why are the majority of NBA players Black? Because white men can't jump.
And because black people are pushed towards sports, not academics. Almost all hockey players are white, it doesn't mean black people can't skate, it means they don't want to play hockey. The reason behind black people not wanting to play hockey is unknown, and to pretend you know why they don't want to play hockey or why they do want to play basketball is dishonest.

Why is that such a terrible thing to admit? Once we can all accept the truth and get over it we can move along.
The problem is when people use incomplete information to make generalizations based on race. Yes, it's possible that genetics play a roll in intelligence but half-assed tests, that are biased towards a specific group are not adequate indicators of 'social worth, importance, or intelligence'.

The only way to accurately measure differences in race for specific things is to control all variables, and use a gigantic sample size. Anything less isn't scientific, and most certainly isn't accurate.

Isn't this what Hitler was attempting? I kid, I kid.

I think the fact that any of this is possible is the key point here. If it can be proven, and understood what is different for who and why, then it could be used to an advantage. Why not encourage positive attributes in those who carry them?

One of the problems with being tested and given a 'rank' is that it inherently makes people 'better' and 'worse' than others.

I don't think that having knowledge is a bad thing, if we could accurately do testing to see the differences in races it would undoubtedly provide us some insights into why people are they way they are, which isn't a bad thing. The bad shit starts when idiots use information to denigrate others. e.g. "your race scored lower in XYZ, therefore I'm better than you." or "you're race scored lower in intelligence than others, therefore you aren't as qualified for position ABC, as person XYZ".

The information would allow for painting with broad strokes, and could be as detrimental as it is beneficial if used improperly.

That being said, I don't think it's wise to ignore ANY information just because it makes people feel bad.... tough call.

Who says black people don't want to play hockey?

Sorry, I should have stated 'The reason behind black people not playing hockey'. I don't know if they 'want to' or not.

However, there are a decidedly small number of black people that play hockey when compared to white people.

Maybe it's because the numbers of blacks are way lower in the areas of the world where hockey is a popular sport. Add the fact that it's not much of an inner city sport, coupled with the very high cost of playing, even at the youth level...

Those could very well be main contributing factors, but I'd just be guessing.

It is obvious on the face of things that black people are slightly better athletically. They are the best speed and endurance runners on the planet.

Someone brought up hockey. Hockey is white dominated because not many blacks play it. I don't know that blacks could dominate there like they do in football and basketball because skating isn't running. They wouldn't be at a disadvantage, but I don't think their better running ability would be as advantageous.

I agree with you. I think it is obvious that some races or groups of people differ in their abilities. These range from physical to cognative.

I do know, and any rational person should, that there is a tremendous amount of overlap in these.

Supposing blacks have the lowest average intelligence, the smartest black man might also be the smartest person on the planet.

The fastest Asian might also be faster than any one else in the world.

And the most greedy native American might be more greedy than any Jew.

But I think it is worth noting which peoples are better on average at what.

What my problem is with your analysis, is that you think there are definitive 'brackets' that races can be generalized into, based on really shitty experiment and a ton of uncontrolled variables.

No person who actually cares about providing a scientifically valid statement, would base their beliefs off a faulty or incomplete data set.

EDIT: wait, do you think greed is genetic?
