Hello fellow members! This is my first attempt at rooting a clone.the mother plant it came from was 2 months old and still in veg state,(got it from a friend)I placed the cutting in water and let it sit under a small florescent work light for 12 hours then I dipped in rooting powder and placed it in soil and lightly watered.it went from being perky to almost laying on its side.I didn't want to call it a failed project,so instead of panicking I put a one liter bottle with the top cut off for a humidity dome.within hours it started perking back up.basically what im trying figure out is if it looks like this cutting might make it?

so far not lookin like death, but yea you want humidity, lots... 90% plus....
until roots form water is absorbed thru the leaf. if its wilted after 3-5 days, ask ur bud for another go at it...
did u split or shave the "stuck" end b4 root powder?
are u using any root foundation? (rockwool, root cube, etc)

I use root riot cubes, root tech get, and a sonic (cool mist) humidifier Split the bottom end up the center about 1/2", Scrape the bottom 1/4" to 1/2" of outer green skin, dip in gel, stick in cube....

90% success rate w/ either the tray/dome/heat mat or w/ the bucket sprayer cloner.

I split it a good half inch up,and skined it slightly with a sanitized razor blade,I dont have any rockwool or any kind of cloning equipment for that matter since I hadn't given any thought to cloning untill I seen that he had a very pretty, matured female that was still in veg.in my state the outside natural flower time is in late july through October and early November.I think the 1 liter bottle is holding the humidity very high because before I put it on the leaves had completely drooped and the fingers were all overlapping, but with the raise in humidity it straightened back up and spread back out,im just disappointed I didn't have more time to prepare and get proper equipment :/

great advice above but for got to mention temps are critical . for rooting clones . idk about every body else , but if I try to root over 75 f they get stem rot and dye. so I keep my temps around 65 ish . 100 % success rate. if over 75 my rates drop from 100 to about 5 % success . doing hydro or cubes or coco . so its summer here yes stupid as runs just for the clones MUREDERING the electric ! sucks .

Cutting could go either way. Better to use an aerocloner because the combination of fine spray and oxygen at the cut tip is perfect for root formation. They're ez to make for about $20 and the success rate for propigation is about 99%. Rooting in soil, for me, was a tedious and unreliable process although guys here ar RIU do it and so I don't frown upon it so much. But when you start to lose patience as well as cuttings you may just end up getting the aerocloner after all. If u need help lemme know.

Thanks for throwing in that added bit of info! Im glad you mentioned it.my temps are at °78 so im going to open up the door on my g.r and let a little a.c in

Thanks for being so willing to help out bro.I don't have any questions that I need to have answered at the moment but as these next few days progress ill post more pics on here just to get some reassurance and opinions from those who've successfully cloned and should know what red flags to point out to me

Will do. It's not difficult at all. It's just that some methods are easier than others and I personally am all about EZ

Seem like u dont have all this equipment throw away the powder shet its crude get gel clonex purple I seen a mate who done water clones he cuts 45 angle scraps he dont split it thenhe dips in gel an puts in a bottle then puts a plastic bag over it to hold humidity but takes like 12 days to see root forming I use rock wool cut scrap dip then into a seedling tray I spray water on tray lid and stick my 10 in fishtank fluro on top they root in about 6 days

I just used what I already had,if I did have gel, humidity tray,Rockwool,I would have used it.not trying to come off as being rude.this isn't a method I was intending to reuse every time.just for this one time

IMO suspension such as rockwool, soil, etc; as long as the snips are done with a rooting harmone and kept in a humidity dome at 65-70F with good drainage from the suspension they should root within ten days under as little as 23 watts of CFL. I use #2 Stimroot powder as directed.
If they are to continue in veg after they are rooted and out of the bin I have found that a minimum of 80 watts is nessesary.
There is also no need to scrape the snip or dip it in water. Make a hole in the suspension to insert the snip. I usually use a 3.25" steel nail for this. Be sure the suspension is saturated before and after inserting the snip. Apparently rockwool needs to be soaked for at least 24 hours to achieve saturation.
If you do not feel comfortable using a razor to cut your snips it is ok to use a quality pair of scizzors to cut the snips. They can also be cut straight accross without the fourty-five degree angle.

How should I take the cutting? Should k add nutes in the water? what about ph? Or just straight tap? this my third attempt didn't work yet. Strain LSD

I use spent res water to saturate my suspension.
The res is originally mixed at about 1/6th of what is recomended for outdoor and used for five to seven days.

I honestly can't give you a right answer, this is my first time at cloning so i can tell you how i did it,I originally took the cutting at a sharper angle that would allow for more surface area for it to grow roots, water was tap that had been sitting in an open container for several days and ph at 6.3,and as for the nutes I don't know how you should go about that but another member posted how he does it on this thread.it works for him so it might work for you under the right condition.keep in mind I don't feel like im the right person you could've asked lol
