how to fight the stretch

hello all just had a question about. Ways to fight the stretch

I'm to sure what causes the excess stretch during flower?
my last grow wasn't so bad but the nodes still seemed pretty spacy
this grow I've got going
there almost 52" tall

I'm in soil Zen blend(next run,perlite/vermiculite,it works for me)
under a 600watt hps
temps 78-85 lights on
advance nute
micro grow bloom b52 and big bud
on sixth week of flows and they still seem to be moving

what do you do to combat it help

they were cuttings
but I did start them under about ten 23w CFL and t5moving them up everyday did that for Bout three weeks then to the 600w m.h for another three weeks
then flipped them the stretch just don't wanna stop

well ive got the room for them to get tall i just wish the nodes didnt seemed so spaced almost 2-4 inches apart.

my last one was maybe an inch to three.

the lights are about 18 " from the top no air cooling unit( just set up new room more space more ventalation. Air cooling and more lights:)) hoping the new feauters will help with everything

i wonder what's a good way to do that?? I don't even go around the rooms when the lights are off so I don't know what the temps are.
I run my lights at night cuz its small space on an exterior wall so it already gets hot durning the day id imagen its in the mid 70s when the lights are off

i just topped them when they were in veg never really tryed lst. i like a big ol gal. lol im tryimg it with one of the 5 i got vegging thoses things look really good really tight nodes 18" nods are maybe half inch apart therebdoing really good these ones ive had hard time with first run un soil

as mentioned, keep your light as close as possible. you can also top/tie down. humbolt sells a product called, "bush master." stops vertical growth, right now. i can't remember what amount they suggest using, but i used about a third of the suggested amount, and it worked fine.

is that something is have to order or you think a hydro shop would have it ? Is it good for in flower

What strain is it will have alot to do with stretch man

I'm not 100% sure
its ether blue cheese. Blue dream or the black

the guy I got the cuttings from forgot what they came off of and so did I. Damn stoners
I'll try to post pics soon so every one can see
if its just strain or or its me

Other than keeping lights close as possible, starting with fluoroscent lighting (preferably tube fluoros like aT5); you also should keep it cool as possible. Heat is what causes you to have to distance the bulbs, and heat itself can lead to stretching.

Get your temperature from a probe right at the canopy level, beneath the light to get a more accurate figure. Anything on the floor, wall, etc. is likely going to give a cooler temp. Ideally you want to keep it in the upper 70's if possible.

Bush master is a PGR, a known carcenogen banned in the US for food crops. Just so you know.
