Hy's veganic garden with induction and led

They got these lil contraptions at the hydro shop to make your own cubes, they are pretty exensive for what they are, think I could make something close to it and be pretty happy. But I am not going through a lot of cubes so I do not mind just grabbing a 50 pack for 15 bucks as of now.
 
i started 100% of my seedlings directly in soil until i went hydro. now the rooters are my best friend for clones and seeds.

only pros clone in soil, i tried so many times and never got it to work. do you use a special mix similar to light warrior where its super fast draining? the stems would rot out every time without fail for me :cuss:

just a basic mix. Peat moss, perlite /pumice, castings and compost. Water cup with a kelp tea. Let it drain. Maybe sit for a while. Then poke a hole with a screw driver. Drop a sprouted seed in the hole and cover it up. With clones same mix. I use aloe Vera gel from an aloe Vera leaf for rooting gel. Throw a Ziploc bag over cup for humidity.

when I take cuttings. I let them sit in a cup of water for a few days to a week. To weed out the weaker ones. Change water every couple days. Sometimes the clones root in the water in that time frame. Kelp / aloe foliars every few days.
 
Can u show/explain to me the diffrence between the indica and sativa phenos? I ask because im thinking of taking a couple of these clones indoor, i just dont want to end up with hard core lanky sativas. But then agian judgeing by ur pic they ddont look that badd.

Thanks. I have been using nettle, lavender, soap, rosemary, garlic, I also released a bunch of predatory mites, encarsia Formosa, vacuum method. What I found works best is lots of fans . They don't like constant wind. The encarsia Formosa just hatched and they go after larva, eggs, and babies. Adults on the other hand... Ironically I don't have any outside. We have had quite a bit of windy days though.. Foliar sprays don't do shit for wf's they fly away.

Yeah fans work on wf, also try hanging CD's around your lights, the constant random light reflections pisses them off too supposedly. Saw this being used in a large greenhouse here...never tried it though.

Thanks. Ironically I have a bunch of spindles of cd's and dvd's. I bought years ago when they were on sale at Costco. $15 a spindle. I haven't even had any use for them in at least 5 years.

lights came on a little bit ago. All wf's are gone . The other day when I realized if fans are not oscillating and having constant wind in one same direction and that actually got rid of them on those plants. I added more fans yesterday. All fans are not oscillating. That's all it took. This was a learning experience. In all my years of growing, I have never had to deal with white flies ever in my life until recently. I threw every organic method at them and nothing worked because they flutter away.. . Now I'm stoked that my indoor and outdoor gardens are pest free again.
 
Hey Hy,

I was reading through your thread again and I am stumped on your nutrient tea on the first page. Why do you call it a nutrient tea? I did notice you did not add any bacterial food, is that why? What is the difference between Compost and Nutrient tea?

nutrient teas have nutrients and no compost. Compost teas have compost and worm castings. (they do have nutrient value though). I just do alfalfa meal and kelp meal in nutrient tea during veg. Once every few weeks I do compost tea of molasses, compost, castings, kelp meal, and aloe vera Then more often I do seed sprout enzyme teas. I topdress castings and compost every 4 weeks as well. Every now and then I also do botanical teas of comfrey, nettle, lavender, rosemary, dandelions, aloe vera, etc...

right before I flip to flower. I topdress nutes then on top of that I topdress castings and compost then water plants.

my next batch topdressed nutes will be crab meal, neem meal, rock dust, and kelp meal.

I have a worm bin making my own vermicompost (castings and compost mixed).
