I don't plan to every work for anyone again in my life so need to do what I can to keep the store going. There's a a few directions I can go with but it would still take $50K or so to get the proper amount of stock and a shit load of learning in that year. I can't sell stuff to people if I have to bullshit them which is funny as I learnt that from doing opposite of what my previous employer wanted me to do for like 7 years.

Hey Leaf, do you set your clients up with online retailers, or do you have arrangements for discounts with local shops? I'm assuming with the volume you would bring that they could offer some nice discounts.
Discounts at the local shop. less volume than you would think. We put a hold on things while we were LP applying.
In Mission. Haven't been to the island much but hopefully do this summer too and check out Tofino and the beaches
Tofino is freaking beautiful, and I've surfed out there myself. Ever take the boat taxi out to Meares Island? If not, it's worth the day trip and hike, some ginormous trees out there on the protected part of the island and some stunning scenery.
Yeah, having to buy and ship nutes to northern location is a major pain and expense. I think that if I was as remote as you are, I'd likely stick to making my own organic super soils as it would save a lot of expense and hassle in the long run (while also providing delicious, organically grown medicine
) Shipping nutrients just seems like a silly and unnecessary expense considering you are mostly paying for water-weight to be shipped across the country. Another option would be dry powdered nutrients, they would save you a ton in shipping....ever try any of those? I've used the GH Maxi Series powdered nutes in a Lucas Formula grow with great results. They are really cheap and a pouch of powder goes a looooooong way.
I have actually been looking into dry nutes. It is so confusing though because there are so many different brands. A while back, I was reading some news clippings about a guy up in Whitehorse that was trying to open a small LP......do you know anything about that or how he's making out? That would be a ridiculously expensive place for such an operation, your electricity rates alone are terrifying.
A lot of the soil's you see in the US like say Foxfarm and GH can't be brought over to Canada because the are organic composts.
