I apologize for being stubborn earlier but I do appreciate everyone's opinions, I painted the room I built yesterday white and I'll light seal and put a door on soon, I currently have a desk fan blowing in there and believe it or not it keeps the temps lights on and off around 75-80 degrees. I'm just using soil moisture control still from MG I know it's a no no but no going back now, I don't add any nutrients because of it, but I'll be getting the hps set up Saturday or Monday setting it up then I'm excited too see the difference... Ill continue to use cfls for side lighting as well.If your cool tube reflector is connected to an inline fan, with a 400w, u can prolly get right down to like 6-10" during flower. If you wanna play safe, esp. during early flower when buds can shoot upwards in a day super fast) go with like 1ft from canopy/top. (CAN use just a booster fan if its rated for higher temps, but will need to have lights a bit higher)
IME Apollo bulbs are actually really decent for being so low priced... Also, the add-on wings.... .... ....I got 2 sets leaning against a wall... ask around see if I'm alone on this one, but they seem to be more of a heat magnet than a light thrower.....
(And they leave the option open for some fun vert setups!)
Oooooo weeeee, well now were really cooking on gas.Well long story short I bought a HPS system from Apollo horticulture now how far up should I hang the lights?
just got done doin' that lol. Fucking hate doing drywall -.- not because it's hard, but because to do it right it takes a long time. mud, wait to dry, mud, wait to dry, mud, wait to dry...waiting game was driving me nutsI'm building a room for it drywall and 2x4s
Light leaks thru the grey kind of duct tape. I use the aluminum kindI'm basically going to use duct tape to seal my grow area, its a cupboard so theres gaps everywhere.
And you painted the floor too.Under the 400w
Right now I don't think heat will be an issue considering there is big gaps between the wall and the drywall I put another fan in there to circulate the air inside and a mini desk fan bringing in air and aimed toward the plant. I was a little drunk last night and made a big mistake installing the new timer it came with, forgot you had to push the slots down all the way for 12/12 and only did one notch on the 3am and 3pm, luckily I woke up only 4 hrs it was supposed to be off and shut the light off, it's back on schedule I know it will have a minimal shock but after a few days of being on the right 12/12 it should recover. The buds are beginning to grow upward looking forward to the swell that is coming! And you painted the floor too.
Good move.
And remember I told you, you're gonna need a carbon filter kit to scrub that hot air and get it out of there.
Shop around.
But first you will need a tempreture/humidity gauge, get a couple.
