Hey guys, wondering if anyone around here has grown any Cindy 99 from Dr greenthumb? Or know anyone who has?

Says on his website they're s1's of the bros Grimm original, and it looks straight fire! Soul did some awesome lines, wish I was growing back then.

What's the price? If it's expensive, pick up a couple of FS singles @ $10 to run beside them and post results. I'd step up if DT were somehow dramatically better. Am burning FS cindy this AM, and it';s always a pleasure.

Tons of breeders have good cindy representations, I don't know if i''d go with doc greenthumb on this one....
Unless you really need fems, I'd go with a filial generation over an s1, the ones from KOS, Classic, and Frost Brother are all excellent selections of Cindy in regular seed.

I've grown and still do grow the BC version. I've seen 3 phenos. I kept a clone of 1. Very good euphoric up. Pineapple smell. The one I kept had almost 6 ounces of dry bud. Very little leaf. Sativa it looks like.

He's charging 150 a pack for 6 fems. Pretty expensive... I know female seeds has good prices, and have ran a couple strains by them. I was impressed with their bubblegum, not so much their lemon kush.

I'll definitely give them a try eventually as I've heard good things

Damn dude!

I have to give you props, all three phenos look sooooo good. Nice yield on those beasts as well... I'm really diggin that #1 pheno as it looked exactly like my space queen with a little more sativa influence. I noticed you did that grow a while ago, do you still have any of the keepers?
dr gruber kills it with his grows imo.. you should check out his latest? grow journal for drgt's gsc test grow.. those plants are frigging killer looking.. amazing...

i've grown f4's from the frost bro's that came from bro's grimm stock not too long ago.. it's nice smoke and all, but i wasn't blown away after hearing all of the hype of c99 all of these years.. don't get me wrong, it's potent, good yielding, quick flowering sativa dom, but idk, like i said, i didn't think it lived up to all of the hype.. if i wouldn't have been so amped up to grow them, i think i would have been more into them tbh..

Thanks man, Its definitely all research at this point. Still trying to decide as I want no gimmicks. Can you tell me where these companies vend?

I'm not so much worried about s1s because I won't breed with them. I just want some of that real deal Cindy loving

I have a couple packs of Female seeds C-99 in transit. Never grown her (or any c-99 variety) before though, so take my 2 cents with a grain of salt....

I've been eyeballing Dr G's gear for a minute myself. I like a lot of his strains, and some of them I feel are worth the price tag (how ever we each define that). I considered his C-99 too, but scratched it off of my list because there just seems to be so many other versions of it out there from other, way less expensive breeders that get great reviews. I may get around to trying it at some point, but not before I check out the more moderately priced options

Greenthumb is doing gsc? Do you have any idea of when these are supposed to come out racer? Only legit looking gsc cross I've personally seen was Archives cross and it's so new there aren't much reports on it..

But anyway..
I don't have a bunch of experience with c99 as I've only grown two crosses and neither were a straight representation. Both were definitely good though. Not really sure what it was but she hit me so well and left a good impression. Not even a huge fan of sativas, but I must say I'm a fan of Cindy.

Very easy to grow, great yield, awesome trich coverage and a scent that I'll never forget.

Kind of off topic but have you ran any gear from DrGT Racer?

It seems that most versions are pretty cheap that I've seen so far. Mocsa, female, etc..

Honestly I don't think 150 for 6 fems is terrible by any means. I know his bubba og and and a couple other crosses go for what? 100 dollars a seed! Now that's crazy. I'm not about the "cool" breeders who price their gear based on a name. This seems to be one of the closest versions I can find to the original and considering its a very stable strain it's s1s should only come out with slight variation as you can see in dr grubers thread above.

I think I'll snatch it up either way sometime in the near future. I'll definitely be doing a side by side comparison from female seeds

i'm not sure about when he's supposed to drop those gsc tbh mista, and i talked to dr gruber, and i don't think he knows too much either, but he'd be the one to ask about anything drgt's.

yeah, i've run a few things from drgt's in the past.. his the dope, a test grow for them... his ghost cut of og kush is so beyond bomb, it's still in my top five smokes to date.. good yields for an og hybrid, amazing taste and structure for an og, and a nice stone to it.. really is top notch imo..
ummm, i'm running his ecsd atm.. it's a nice plant.. hollow stems, lanky during flowering, but looks to be a nice yielder thus far, and getting pretty funky in the smell dpt... i got them as cuts though from a fine farmer friend..
umm, i'm growing a cut of rez's 4sd, which is chem 4 x ecsd, and this shit is so god damned loud, it's not even funny. omfg, this stuff is way loud... looks like it's gonna be a nice yielder, frosting up a bit now, and very loud. have i said it's loud yet? lol..

I had the mother for a year or more but lost her with a bunch of other stuff I had..... but i think i still have a seed from the original pack.

Doc just posted on another site that the GSC are now available. I still don't see it on his web site but if you call you can get them now.

Just to clear things up bit. Doc only has 2 strains that are $200 for a 2 pack, G13 and Bubba Katsu. The G13 comes with 3 seeds per pack and the Bubba Katsu comes with 4. I know they are listed as 2 seeds per pack but he always throws in extra.

Anyway, I haven't tried the other breeders C99, so i can't say which is "best" but I do love Doc's and want to grow her again. I would say to this day she is still my favorite daytime smoke.

I browsed your journal, and the first thing that grabbed my attention were the finishing times. 68 days was the earliest of the three, right? That's contrary to the FS I've run [52, 55, and 58[lazy] ], and the descriptions most every seller has of c-99 as an extremely fast finisher. I'd appreciate your thoughts on why yours were all 10 weeks + more or less. Thanks.

i ran the frost bro's c99 and pulled it at i think 9 weeks, and think they could have went longer still... idk, but i never have a plant ready when a breeder says it will be ready..
my $.02

Like I said, the 3 FS were all done 7 1/2 to 8. I've also ran several c-99 hybrids [ Chucky's Bride, Drizella, and sub's crosses] and only an occasional plant went as much as 60 days, fwiw. Outside of Bodhi, and a TH Sage n Sour, I honestly can't remember any that ran much longer than in the descriptions, which is a factor I consider strongly when choosing bean companies.
