They look nice and healthy, man. Whatever you're doing seems to work.

Why are they in a hole though? Is it for security reasons or what?

I'd also suggest taking the wire off of them. At this point they're big enough to survive most pests and all the wire is going to do is restrict growth.

Agreed! The wire in counterproductive. The best cage wire is 6" x 6" remesh. It is strong to provide support but the large spacing allows you to reach through to adjust the branches. Better to do without than use the small guage chicken wire.

I used to work with a guy whose son lived in Montana. The son asked the father(an equipment operator) to dig him a large hole on his property. It was about 20 feet square and ten feet deep. The son covered it with greenhouse fabric and a layer of military camo fabric. He pulled good crops out of it for two decades.(All according to the father.) I gave such a setup a lot of thought until I bought the subdivision home we've lived in the last 20 years.

Put hogwire spread out above them and train them under it.

actually, you are still in violation of Michigan medical marijuana law. they have to be in an "enclosed" area with a lock. outdoor growing is not legal except in a green house, and even then it goes from county to county on weather or not police will allow it.

I grew up with a state trooper he sent me that link the law has changed
