I wish I could go take a pik and post it but my comp is screwed, it works in half safe mode and won't allow me to upload piks from my camera. I can take piks with a friends camera and then have him email me the piks to post. Give me a few days, I'll do it. By Monday at the latest. I know most people would think BS about a MTF clone that old and so would I be suspicious. I have no reason to doubt my friend, he is a MMP who only grows for himself. His friend who kept it going all those years was a Vietnam vet living in the valley for 50 some years. I bought very much MTF through the years starting in the early 80s, most of it was what the hell ever pot just using the name to make a sale. I also know that anybody growing buds back in the 70s and early 80s was pulling tarp on outdoor greenhouses in order to get it to flower. I also have a strong suspicion that the strain could easily have been developed in the Fairbanks Goldstream Valley first or near the same time and/or with people from the Matanuska valley. The Matanuska valley was a low population backwater nowhere during the 70s while Fairbanks had a sizable population and 20,000+ new guys that showed up from the lower 48, living, working or looking for work on the pipeline, lots of weed from wherever they came from. There were only a handful of strains available back in the mid 70s. It was no contest in the early 70s as to where the best stuff was coming from in limited quantities. Hawaiian sensi. Growers from there were bringing their crops to Alaska to maximize profits. Alaska has always had a strong connection to Hawaii with guys living in both places 1/2 the year. So in the 70s you want to grow in Alaska, what seeds you going to start with, Mexican, Colombian, Jamaican, maybe some Thai? No brainer, you are going to get your friends to bring some Hawaiian seeds over. Not that that tells you where the Hawaiians were getting their seeds from. I do remember the first and biggest MTF greenhouse grow bust from the mid 80s and it happend in the Goldstream Valley, Fairbanks.1000+ plants. Anybody have any info on the myths and mystery surrounding MTF, please share. The truth will never be known so that's all there is, stories and no provable chain of evidence.
Also I'm just a MMP who grows for himself and doesn't give a ratsass if it is the real deal old school MTF. If it turns out good enough to keep with my other strains then I will, if not bye, bye. There are also a handful of people in the valley here that were gifted clones by my friend and his friend who kept it going all these years. Friends have friends so it's probably in a lot grows here and friends have friends is why I believe there is old school MTF growing, hidden away in houses in this Matanuska Valley continuously for 30 some years since people here first started cloning.
