Good Filter and Inline fan.

Does anyone know of a good inline fan and filter that works pretty good and not super spendy, I have a 4x2x5 tent and running a 400w HPS. the one I have now isn't working as good anymore I'd like to have a fan powerful enough to pull threw the filter than a cool tube or air cooled hood in case I get one later on. Cuz the one I have it isn't scrubbing the exhaust that well anymore got it off eBay in February didn't think it would go bad that soon.

While I'm no expert and I have no other brands to compare to, I can say definitely that the Phresh brand for carbon filters work perfectly.

I think a 400 CFM sounds about right for that size. Is your reflector air coolable or will this just be exhaust?

I have the 720 CFM model and the amount of air it moves...WOW. But it is LOUD.

Always a good idea to get a filter that is rated a little higher than your fan...maybe this one?

I hope others chime in as I am not an expert and am learning as I go too. I would hate to give you bad advice.

I like Phat filters. I've used phat, phresh, and ebay junk.

I'd get a 6 inch centrifugal fan. I like vortech, but the cheaper 6 inch ones seem to do well (the bigger the cheaper ones get, the junkier they are)

Phresh are ok, but Phat seem to filter better. I'm pretty sure both brands tout themselves as having the most virgin carbon, not sure which carbon is really better....

I have a phresh and phat filter the same size, the phat has a whole lot more carbon in it.

Interesting. As I'm researching it looks like Phat changed their name to Rhino. Rhino's look to only be available in Europe and Switzerland. Does this sound right to you?

Well, yes and no. The 720 is exhausting is a 4x8 tent full of food I'm growing. No filter needed for this

My *other* tent is 4x4 but I only had a 200 CFM exhausting and I could not manage the heat so it's been taken down for the time being.

*Probably* but I'm not sure. I'm battling this very problem myself which has led me to abandon my 4x4 tent for the time being. Others here can advise and I hope they do.

Other other option might be going with LED lights hardly much heat come from them I've read, I wanna go to LED one day but for good ones for flowering you gonna dish out a big chunk of cash, and it'll be to cold in my garage running LED. What lights were you running?

I'm running 600 Watters. MH currently but HPS soon. I really underestimated the CFM needed to exhaust a tent. The way I had originally designed my 4x4, I had the 600 Watt air cooled reflector which had a dedicated 200 CFM venting that. Then I had another 200 CFM fan pulling through a carbon filter. When the tent was sealed up, the temps would sky rocket from 70 to low 90's within a matter of minutes. So that being said, don't be afraid to go more air flow then you think you need. I'm learning this the hard way.

Really? What am I doing wrong then?? That is much better than the results I got. For the week or so that I had my tent up I just kept the doors open...had to.
