cause they are pheno's selected from a sect of plants .....like if you grew 100seeds of the same strain but got 10 phenos an 1 was ultra dank....you take an keep that an this is the begining of clone only's...then you begin showing it off in various orms an others wanna try it so you send them clones cause there's no seeds of that pheno...so on an so forth....there's a ton of clone only's but few i would consider true elite's...peace az

In Uk we have the OG UK Cheese (as most know) but since BB as bought out his seeds Ive seen a number of different phenos classed as Cheese, Only 1 true real deal!
You will find alot of growers-dealers with a variety they aint a clue about it will take the name of a clone only elite or some variety well known.
Some clone only are alota hype for nout and some are worth haveing

why couldnt a grower use cs spray and make seeds of this pheno? would the seeds produce different phenos? or wouldnt they all be the exact genetics? im curious cause i have sedd from a strain that people are saying is "clone only". and im wondering if my bean is actually legit.

Clone only= a hyped mom clone with no available seeds, usually spread or mentioned by respected online growers.

the truth is that to create 'that one' the pheno it has been bred forward and back(reversed) so many times that the entire strain has become so unstable that the breeder cannot guarantee its survival for the next one generation, usually due to forcing the parents with heavy hormones beyond any sensible threshold

to grow cannabis for the thc is one thing but you got to get that thc, you need a plant thats got to last 6 months or more and endure all that goes with being a plant, for this reason I avoid clones, as in most cases you are buying other growers fuck ups

so how can i tell if my 707 headband seed is the true strain? ive never seen it or smoked it. just reading that its an awesome strain, but supposedly "clone only". ive heard that about "deathstar" also. and im curious as to why someone couldnt hermie the mother and get fem seeds. any input is apreciated. sorry, not trying to jack the theead. just trying to explore knowledge. im relatively new to it all. but im a fast learner when the info is brought forth.

because some growers like to keep them,and not share,because they have tiny ding-dings,and are compensating for this with like-sized growers and their undieing admiration for such a douchey action in the cannabis community...

Yes dependent on many different factors especially environment clones will display different phenotypes while being the same genotype.

thank you for the response. makes me wish i had went to colledge. lol . but yeah i have experienced some duchery lately. death star is one of my fav strains, but i highly doubt that ill ever even get to smoke it again. much less get a seed or clone of the actual pheno. it would be sweet. but doubtful. people talkin like if the cutting isnt from such an such, it aint really such an such. that kina sucks.

Based on the same genetics but not all in the same combination, so yes, you'd likely get different phenos.
Unless the plant was a true bred homozygous for all traits the seeds of the selfed plant won't even all have the same genotype.

I think the man asked a question about why some strains are clone only.
Let's put it this way... If ones post is filled with emotion and negativity, they probably aren't lucky enough to ever scored a real cut.
It doesn't have anything to do with being cool or compensating potent buds for lack of genital inches.
What your getting with elite clones is a lot of hard work already done, all you have to do is master the grow and enjoy top notch smoke.
Og kush for example is one if the most sought after clones. Sure they offer it on seed. Always replicated but never duplicated. Therefore...
Newer clones like gorilla glue 4, we know the recipe, we can do the breeding again bit might not get close to the outstanding phenotypic advantages this displays in this specific plant. Sometimes these cuts are selected out of many seed runs, to find the perfect example of what the breeder or maker is looking for.
Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't. An elite clone can guarantee a specific genotype.
With clones come many disadvantages too. Bugs, diseases, fungus, and loss of vigor. Or being taken advantage of by being sold a specific cut that's not what it is said to be.

To add, anybody can get cut. You either got to have good friends, money, or a good cut to trade.
Network. You get one of the three things I mentioned, you can get it.
