SOG coco perpetual grow

Right now I have two tents and I'll be looking for a third. My veg tent is 4.5x4.5 feet. One 1000w bulb. 4x4 flood table. 26 gallon tote as my reservoir.

I've read I can get 4 plants per square foot if I lolypop the girls. I'm looking for plants to be 18" to 24" at harvest. One cola.

Plan is 3 weeks veg and 9 weeks flower.

Second tent is 3.5x6.5 feet (only 8 square feet bigger than the 4.5x4.5) with a 3x6 flood table and either 2 1000w or 2 600w. I have both. (Thoughts?) And a 50 gallon reservoir. I'm looking for another tent to make this into a simi-perpetual grow.

I have a/c for the tents but in a couple months i won't need them, I'll just bing in the outside air.

Oh, one gallon smart pots and flood 3x a day or plastic 6x6 pots and flood 2x a day? I can definitely get more plants in with the 6x6 but the smart pots are 8 inches around. Thoughts?

I'm gradually getting up to 4 per sq ft myself, but it has to be done with little to no veg time. I vegged a few day I think. Basically clone to bloom, high density growing. When done right, yields higher than traditional growing methods.

That's the plan. But this one time, while I'm waiting for my mother to mature so i can clone her, I'm doing a practice run from seed.

But still can seem to get enough water on the table to get the coco wet. I'm on my way now to buy a bigger res because 27 gallons wasn't enough. Also, the smarts pots are not drying as quick as i thought they would. I wet then down last night and they are still sopping wet 12 hours later. Granted i don't have a grow light or fan in there yet so the heat might help them dry quicker.

I'm a soil guy so I can't be any help on the table problem.

I am in a set up very close to you. Two 5x5 tents with 4x4 flood and drain in the bloom room with 1 gallon root pouches. Mostly coco but there is some perlite and coco croutons mixed in there from previous uses.

As always it's a work in progress dialing in but at the moment there are 5 clones in week 3, and five that are at week 1, five more go in next week (two week perpetual that is just getting started). All the clones get the same EC and flooded once a day for AT LEAST one hour, tonight it was 1 hour and 45 min. I have not needed multiple feedings yet so once a day is working well for me. From what I've read and seen happen with my crop is shorter flood times cause a weird salt build up on the top layer when flooding with coco, so a long flood is a good idea, again just what I have experienced.

I would not use plastic pots, fabric is the way to go for flood and drain with coco, it yelps yield and speed of growth in my personal tests I've done.

I use a 600 for flower at the moment and it is working great. Its a switchable ballast 400-600-1000 which is great when temps get a little crazy. Either Light will suite you, I'd practice with 600 first, 1000w was a lot for me to work with when first starting with it.

I like 600s for sog. Cool tubes and they work well. I didn't like fabric pots but I wasn't in a table setup. I'm sure I would like them a lot more in 5 gal.

If you 3 week veg I think your plants will finish taller than 24 in depending on the strain. I wouldn't veg anymore than a few days to let them become comfortable in their medium.

You won't find much. Here are some pictures I grabbed real quick while setting it up and during a few grows. The second picture was half way through harvest, from rooted aero clone, 3 week veg, then to flower, 9 plants got 15 dried oz. It was my first run like this so hope I can get better.
Don't mind the big bushy plants, they are phenos I brought back from Jamaica and are moms at the moment. I get lazy and throw them in for a feeding when I just want to sit and look at them.

Figures right as I say one thing, I change it up. Ladies are starting to look hungry, so the timer is set for 2 floods a day at about 1 inch for 1 hour each feed.

Not a lot to report yet. Four of the 20 seedings have sprouted. I was planning on adding nutes to the res today but had an emergency in another one of my tents. I've been trying to keep a spider mite issue at bay and have been slowly losing the battle in flower. I decided it was time to harvest. My trichomes are milky but not a lot of amber yet. Regardless, it had gotten to the point that you can see them crawling all over the place. Webs everywhere. So i harvested. I will hang them upside down with duct tape at the top to catch as many as i can. After 3 days of drying, I'll put them in the freezer to kill the rest. Hopefully I'll be able to save some of it.

Tomorrow back to the indoor Coco SOG. I already can tell I'll have some heat issues to deal with but more on that later.

A GREAT product I use to control indoor pests is Neem Oil from Dyna-Gro. It is 100% organic, extracted from the crushed Neem Tree Seeds. When Sprayed and/or coco drench it makes pests infertile so they can not reproduce, proven effective up to 17 generations of insects! It's an amazing product to use and you can google "Neem Oil advantage" to learn SO Much more about it.

Yeah, I've been using neem (during veg) switched to Azamax and ladybugs during flower and have been using Bacillus thuringiensis, (or BT) for catapillars. Every couple weeks the spider mites would pop up but only in my big tent. I couldn't keep the lady bugs alive in that tent for some reason so I'm guessing that had something to do with my problem. My outside grow has been fine but I did find a couple catapillars when i got lazy with the BT. And the heat outside this summer; I had weeks and weeks over 100, the fans and misters can only do so much outside. I think that will explain why my buds are doing to be a little fluffy this year. Oh well.

Some bud is better than no bud!!! Always be happy for a harvest even if its not up to par. Glad you are getting a harvest none the less! Keep on keepin on!

I think my bud strain, being a sativa, leans towards the fluffy side anyway but the heat didn't help at all. The smoke is great regardless. I don't know why everyone thinks that dense is always better? Some of the best bud I've smoked has been loose. Sorry for the little rant. I'll be switching stains soon, I'll be joining the bandwagon and growing dense indica but mostly because i think indica grows better SOG

Anyway, i added nutes for the first time. Seven sprouts have come up so i figured it was time.

Here's what i used:
Botanicare Vitamino at 1/2 strength
Pro-Tekt Silicon at full strength
GH CALiMAGic at full strength
Hygrozyme at 1/4 strength
GH MaxiGro at 1/4 strength

My water PPM's at 100 before and at 420 (lol) after. With Bluelab set to 700ppm

PH to 5.8 / 5.9 (it would switch back and forth every 20-30 seconds so it was close enough)

1000w HPS bulb with digital ballast set to 50%


I guess I'm worried about the the differences in sprout times causing different size pants and messing up my SOG (this will be the only time i use seeds, I'll be going to clones after this test run which should make uniformity easier.)

Meh, I run into the same problems, with sativas dominant hybrids not having the same density as indica or indica hybrids. After the trim it just doesnt have the same bag appeal, not to mention its just a pain to trim. I personally like sativas more, I like the flavors more, and I prefer the happy energy from it. And who cares if its loose?.. I'm gonna run it through a grinder anyways..

But I totally get what you're saying.. Theres been a strong demand for Girl Scout Cookes, (more indica hybrid) so even I'm kinda shifting around for this. But you are generally right about indica growing better sog, my friend ran these beautiful tables of ak47 sog. Nice dense nuggets, short plant height. easy to manage, almost no popcorn and even ripening.

You could do sativas in sog, I got about 10 C99's in SOG, flowered them at 4 inches high, and they are pretty well behaved.
Im just kinda messing around till I get my cookies into the garden, I'm going to run a similar setup to yours, 1 or 2 gallon smarties, in trays.. so thats why I've taken such an interest in your thread.

The strain in the pictures and what I'm running is called "Kalasjnikov 47" from BC Bud Depot. It's a cross from AK-47 x Skunk #1. It really is an awesome strain, explosive growth, short, stocky, very dense buds, extremely fruity taste and odor. The best part is the high is that of a sativa, It grows like an indica but smokes like a sativa.
