Are there any objections to using just "Bloom Nutrients" only during flower?

Beautiful plants! Be prepared for ca and mg def in flower. If you don't have calmag (or wish to treat a deficiency a single deficiency without giving more of the other nutrient) buy some inexpensive epsom salt at the grocery store (for mg def). Dissolve some eggshells (<<link) in vinegar for ca def. (It takes 2-3 weeks, so get started now.).

You're going to want to understand the amount to use of Flora Nova. Also that GH recommends a water-only every week (it's been mentioned this is to help the soil biology to recover from the synthetic nutrients, reduce salt buildup, etc.). You should find someone who uses it and get their guidance. This was discussed in the nutrient forum not long ago.

If you are growing in nutrient rich soil and have a short veg period and using floranova you will not need veg nutes, in my opinion. Say you have a three week veg period. You wouldn't want to give them any nutes for the first two weeks anyway.. If you have a very long veg cycle then yea, you'll probably run out of N in the soil. If you are using tap water then you probably won't need to worry about cal/mag either.

I know some people that nute the heck out of their plants, I know others that try not to use much nutes at all.. It's a learning process and also depends on the medium, strain etc..

I use Dutch master grow a and b for veg and dutchmasters gold range flower nuts a and b no additives tho about 3 to 5 weeks I use canna pk boost for 1 week last grow I had rock hard buds decent size bud all in all a good harvest 4 nl auto pulled 13 oz dry

Good word. Unfortunately im a few months in and i just flipped. I transplanted in all new soil of RO and grabbed the GH's FNB. So hopefully ill have somthing to talk about with the community soon.

I have to agree with 0 nutes before 3 weeks. You don't need anything not a drop of them snake oils. You could do a complete grow on 1/4 strength base nutrients and be fine. I have watered an outdoor plant with hose water for a whole 12 weeks in fox farms and mind you it was only 3 feet tall but it needed 0 help from bottled nutes. That was an experiment and not something I do on a normal basis though.

That makes about 0 sense unless your going hydro. You don't need ANY nutrients in veg if your doing it for less than 3 weeks. You don't need a fuckin drop of any snake oil.

Try it yourself before you tell people to feed the first two weeks, that is a great way to fuck up the beginning which leads to an entirely fucked up plant.

Its all good brosky. We all tryna learn the best way and give the best insigt, input, output you lnow etc. And share experiences. Im going through that first grow stage trying to make out of the cocoon so i can fly high you know what i mean?

I am at the last part of a cycle with a group of ladies that are so beautiful I am having a hard time not choppin em down to smoke. Giving them the extra time they are asking for and will appreciate it in the end.

Funny that you say that I wat. elling this other bro that he shouldn have chopped yet that it was impatient to do. But i know i wont be exempt from being tempted but ill see what pops up.

One thing I'd also add is that if u can afford the little extra money upfront, its better long term budget-growing sense buying a good quality, brand name bloom nute & if poss, buy the next size up bottle to whatever you would buy for a few grows worth.

In terms of £ per L, Nute prices do often drop dramatically as you go up bottle size, and if u buy good quality and store it right then it can last perfectly fine for years and years. (Coolish, dry, dark cupboard and lightly shake every few months.)

For me, I only do 4 smallish, plants a time but I bought 2 x 1L bottles of grow/bloom about 2 years ago, used them on 4 grows and easily still got 1/2 to 2/3rds of each bottle left, which still looks fine for another few years of storage, though next time I'm gonna just buy 2 x 5L and be done for the next decade! And if ur talking double digit litres of nutes (which u lucky Yanks & Canadians probably are!), well it scales up relatively - the higher u go, the better the savings!

Tho admittedly it does mean investing in 1 brand for a long period too, so either research reviews or try samples first?!

Yea, i can reason with that. I like that fact that what you say prompts me to be consistent with one line. Which i think im going to go GH. And i may learn Canna or some good aeration soil and line up.

That's cool cheers dude - and also 1 line is good when u starting off as I found there's so many other growing variables to learn about that keeping nutes consistent to begin with helps eliminate a few, and allows u to concentrate on watching/learning the other important variable aspects.

I've known new growers who switched brands each grow & even mid-grow, but its so hard to then rate effectiveness because u can't tell if results are due to new nutes or some other random environmental variable.
