WTF! 150w Hps Too Hot SOS!

This damn 150w hps jumped to 92 degrees it killed both of my babies while I was at work it wasn't hot at first but o guess heat builds up I have 2 fans and holes drilled in the side of the grow dresser its 37x26x18 2 fans one at the bottom of the light and one at the top but it ain't working the light is the sunsystem 150w hps it doesn't have a spot for a fan or anything just vents please I need help asap,

What are the fans you're using?

PC fans no doubt?

You should use something like a bathroom extractor fan or a booster fan.

An inline extractor 4" would be better as you could add a filter to it.

This idea is probably more of a hassle than anything. But if you could find a piece of glass thats just smaller than the inside dimensions of the dresser, you could use it to seal the light from the plant area. Make sense?
So a piece of glass 25" x 17". Then mount brackets to the inside of the dresser at the lowest point you would hang your light. Then just slide the glass in and you basically seperated the light from the plants. You could remove the glass from the light hood (if any) as well since it wouldnt be needed. Now you could vent the top section without fear of removing odor from the grow cab. Of course youll still need air exchange for the ladies. But thats another,issue.
Hopefully that makes sense. Like i said, probably a hassle but its just an idea.

soooo the glass will keep the heat away? I just unscrewed the back panel off and mounted a fan but no success

I use a 250 hps in an adjustawing reflector which is just an over-sized batwing. For 4 years I've grown in a house that has no air conditioning. To deal with heat, my lights are set to come on at 8pm and go off at 8am, so the lights are on during the coolest period that they could be on and I have no heat issues but my tent is also 2.5 feet x 2.5 feet x 5 feet high. As someone else said though and I agree, those dimensions in the dresser are tight even for a 150 hps.

Or you could stop being ghetto and actually do a decent job.

Otherwise you'll only ever get heat stressed bud.

And believe me when I say if you can control the heat in your grow anywhere between 65-75F then you'll have primo bud.

But until then you won't.

Lol the only reason why I'm being ghetto is cause money is tight and it was an emergency cause it killed my babies but yea, and I do take time to think things out so what if came with is if I can get some glass to put in there imma do that and put a fan on to the light, sunsystem really the ones being ghetto with this shit ass design

The cost of a bespoke piece of glass to fit will equate to roughly the cost of a 4"-5" booster fan.

The booster fan would create air exchange. A piece of glass will not.

I grow in wardrobes, replace that with a 300w CFL and suppliment with LED lights and you will laughing. HPS arent suitable to closet/stealth grows really.

Its a lil late for that I'm not getting no new lights, gonna have to work with what I got, I asked you guys previously what I should get.

Get the hps they say, you will be fine they say

now what I'm about to do is build a cool tube for this light I think it could work with the glass over the bulb and duct a PC fan to exhaust it out but I'm thinking if i get a fan on the bulb will stay cool right? Or does the glass trap the heat but I thought it takes away UV and then I will get one of those grate booster fans to put in the bottom to filter cool air in what do you think? I'm not funding this to much so the budget is tight in the mean time I got some more beans. XD!!!

So I found a 120cfm inline fan for 24 bucks imma just put on the bulb but idk if I should intake cool air on the bulb or exhaust the hot air of the bulb.

its a simple fix

get one of these

and hook it up so that it is blowing the air out of the dresser...prob best to cut a hole in the top of the dresser or in the back at the top.

heat rises, so venting the top out will remove heat. if you cant invest 25 bucks into climate control then you should probabally just quit until you have a few bucks to invest and do it right otherwise your just wasting money and risking burning your house down

i would focus on sucking or blowing the hot air out. moving the air just makes the cab. more or less equal in temp. it doesnt cool it it just spreads the heat around glass or not you need to remove the hot air.hot air rises so it will be better to remove it from the top somewhere .if hottest air is on top that means cooler air is at the bottom put vents on bottom.sucking or blowing the hot air out top will automaticly draw cool air from bottom do this at a high enough speed you will eventualy cool your cab. you can get a bath fan for $16 bucks at the big box store and install it on the cieling blowing the air out the top and the vents on bottom bringing in cooler air.

Ok Ok let me get everyone to the same page I'm putting a register vent at the bottom of the box then I'm gonna put a inline fan on the light to push the hot air out
