That was an amazing place. The drive down from Sea-Tac is pretty uneventful. Major highway, suburban sprawl a lot of the way. Maybe i was just tired from the residual effects of the burn West. I had spent the previous day hiking with two of RIUs illustrious members so i might of just been tired from that too. But turning off somewhere around Grants Pass and heading West was really pretty. By the time I reached the coast it was pretty late and I was pretty fried. The last hour of the trip was... Uh, trippy. I was driving along a section where suddenly you were driving through these enormous tree trunks. You couldn't really see up to see that these giant trunks were attached to trees, but they must have been. I mean these things were fourteen feet in diameter. "you shouldnt plant trees so close to the road" I thought to myself as I made my way past. They gave the impression that one was driving through a sleeping herd of dinosaurs that could wake up and crush you at any point.

I am pretty sure that this is one of the very large sections of old growth redwoods (well, obviously) that make up the Redwoods NP in part. When I woke up in the morning I kind of wanted to go back and see them but the forest ranger assured me that there were many big trees down the coast. He was right.

I have pictures. But getting them here requires me to move cards and use Dropbox and then access an actual computer to get them up here. I hate that junk. And I have inlaws arriving in a day and much to do. So at the risk of losing interest (my own and yours) I will wait to post more. And I broke a lightbulb and cut my hand. Now I have to vacuum.

But I think I snapped one of early morning in Butte. And then the coast ravens. And then trees, lots of trees. I think I will have a lot of mushroom photos... And centipedes and slugs.

Oh, I forgot. In Seattle I found myself driving near Pike Place so I stopped in. Apparently the cruise ship that has just disgorged it's passengers was a floating Japanese girls high school. Either that or there was a fetish convo. So the streets were filled with skirted Japanese girls. It was pretty funny. I photo bombed them and snapped a shot of them swarming the Starbucks.

Just poetry! Thank you, hey if you are gonna be in San Francisco this weekend so am I :) I'm still waiting on hearing back on the couch from ebgood LOL

If I threw a BBQ over here in Barca I reckon it'd be non existent. MissXx may come otherwise it'd just be me and Klite.

I had a great time with @charface and @Clayton Bigsby and I would seriously think twice before calling either of them out IRL. So far I have met six of you RIU people - each one has been amazing.

I'll finish this story eventually. I kind bogged down at the pictures but I will get there eventually. Been very busy this last week and am preparing to head the opposite direction. I can't say that I have ever driven coast to coast in the same month.

I was surprised you didn;t let me drive to give yourself a break, but I probably wouldn;t get in my shitbox of a car unless I knew it either. When we were coming back from the mountain there was a brief period when I thought you had drugged me. I was blaming it on Charface's bag of chips, but I was eyeing you. Just sayin....
