First time grow (Bagseed Indoor CFL)

Hey.

Im currently growing myself a nice plant. I started of with 10 seedlings, but 9/10 didn't survive.

Now I have a beautiful female who's currently in her 6th week of flowering.

I do have some questions.

I have been feeding nutes throughout the whole flower and half of the veg. The plant is about 50-60cm tall. And 6months old.
I don't have a lot of trichs and alot of the hairs are turning amber/brown and drying up. Is this maybe because of the CFL (2x 100W) burning it? The leaves are not getting burned near..My buds are getting denser I can feel and they're starting to smell. I have a 10x scope and I can see that the trichs are not yet amber.

Im just worried about how much longer I should wait. I can see some calyx swelling here and there.

Use the -Upload A File- button to post your pics directly to the thread so I can see 'em.

I grow CFL also, and my plants can get pretty gnarly. So I doubt it's your light. Some strains/phenos just don't pack on the trichomes. Are they real 100w's? Or 100w equivalent?

As for how long to wait, that's up to you. Sounds like you already know what to look for in your trichomes, so just be patient :)

you need way more light bro go do yourself a solid and purchase a 2 bulb 2 or 4 ft T5 light use it for the top of your plants and use the cfl's you currently have for side and lower lighting you may want to look into LST for future cfl grows so you can maximize the light you have.

Im sure you can see the pictures if you follow the link to the imgur album? I can upload them again if not.

Im currently using two 100w equivalent bulbs. But lately the buds have been packing on more trichs, more white pistils and they are increasing in size.

I really want to just take 1 sample nug, haha.

Yeah I know I have way too small amount of light. But I don't have a lot of money, so this is grown using the cheapest budget. Next time I will definately use LST and maybe buy a HPS.

Your two 100w equivs are probably around 13w-20w lights. So you actually have between 26w (low) and 40w(high) of light in there. I believe my 23w are 150w equivs. And I use 16 of them.

More lights sir. Even if you are on a budget, a 4-pack of 23w's cost $10 at Wal-Mart. Get to it. 100w of light per foot minimum. Especially with a weak light like a CFL.

As for LST... to each his own. I don't like vegging for over a month. I SoG it and run. But plant numbers don't matter to me, so I can grow 12-20 at a time and rotate them. Your situation might be different and 2 LST'd plants might be better than 10 single-stalks. Dunno. That's up to you.

6 wks into flowering ..you may have some time to go. .I'm in my 7th wk just started to flush with clear water ...watch your trikes once you start seeing some amber your there !! The yellowing leaves are normal they start to die off as the plant matures ! The colaxes should be swelling up pretty good too !! Take your time ...my only tip would be ..next time spring for some fem'd seeds !! I also found that using Advanced Nutrients Sensi A&B ph perfect you don't need to fuss with ph !! Major plus !! Best grow I've ever had !!

Week 8 of flowering on wednesday. Im planning maybe a flush, how should I do it? I don't have that much nutrient in my soil..

Some new pictures. Im not seeing any amber yet. But alot of cloudy ones. The main two colas are very dense and doesn't pack very much crystals, but enough. I think I'll be high!

Week 7 now guys. I can see alot of new trichs appearing on the lower buds. I will put up some pics when she's awake. Im wondering about flushing. Should I just use water and run some liters through the soil until the water becomes clear?

How does that affect the taste? The plant is grown from brickweed seeds from Colombia. The taste is horrible, and I suspect it's because of alot of fertilizer?

People blow flushing in soil way out of proportion.

Cut back to a 1/3 strength feeding your second-to-last time watering, and straight water your last time. That's all you need to do if you are using Botanicare and running soil.

Brickweed tastes like shit because it was grown in a field with 1000 other plants that no one gave a shit about...
Left to dry in the sun in a pile no one gave a shit about...
Bricked up and moved around for a year or more before your dealer ever gets their hands on it...
And then finally it's handed to you.

Some of the best weed I've ever grown was bagseed.

That's true... After seeing strainhunters, and actually seeing that poor farmers use wide varieties of seeds of quality... Just an hour and I'll put up some pics for you.

Hey. Here is some new pictures.

I fed her 1/3 strength now, and I can see calyx swelling, brown hairs and she's getting smelly. I can also see alot of trichomes on the lower buds, more than on the colas on top... They are pretty cloudy too. 11. dec is my 8th week mark. I also wonder what has happened to my leaves. Anyone know?

How long do you think is left?

you don't look like you're five days away but your girl sure is looking good! great job with the CFLs! :leaf: some of the leaves look burnt from the bulbs and some look like they're overfed but could be the picture. overall: :clap:

it's awesome to smoke your own.
