Executive Order 6102
That didn't make owning gold or silver illegal, it made the HOARDING of gold and silver illegal. You could still own up to 5 ounces of bullion and any amount of US gold eagles ( Amongst many other gold coins) you cared to want. Millions of them if you had them, it was completely legal.

So you aren't arguing that gold and silver were illegal anymore?

What is a bullions? Just so ya know, you don't always place an 's' on the end of every word you want to make plural.

That came to mean ANY pre 1933 gold and silver coin.

ok read it some where other than wiki. Question what if you wanted 6 ounces of bullion and would not a million coins be hoarding. Seem like the law is a trap
If you really wanted 6 ounces of bullion, I won't tell if you won't.
My Grandfather never turned in his gold. He lived to 98 years and died very wealthy.

6 million US gold eagles dates 1932 would be perfectly legal for you to possess. If you had 6 million 1934 canadian gold coins, you need to turn those in, only coins with numismatic value (which would be every coin prior to the order) were exempt.

Not many people had even a single gold coin, silver was much more common. Most people didn't turn in anything. Although people who kept their PM's in safe deposit boxes had them taken, but they were of course reimbursed.

Yep, it was considered HOARDING if you had that much, but the gold itself was never and has never been illegal. Like you claimed.
So you can shut up about it now, you were wrong again, just suck it up and go on with your life.

so it was illegal ...it was just according to how much
Thanks
Gold nor silver were ever illegal, but hoarding it was. You should actually read the executive order you cited, it clearly states that HOARDING is illegal, not gold nor silver.

You can deny this all you want, but you'll be wrong every time.
