1)Health Canada says about 13,700 patients were registered under the new system as of Oct. 31. That's an increase from about 5,100 in April and almost 8,000 in June.

2)Costs range from as low as $2.50 per gram to as high as $15, depending on the producer and the strain, but most are between $8 and $10.

3)Those grams have added up: Health Canada says 1,400 kilograms -- or 1.4 million grams - were sold by licensed producers between Jan. 1 and Oct. 31.

So they're saying that 5100 patients signed up for lps in April and another 8000 in June? Someone help me out here.

Can anyone verify this $2.50/g price and from where? I may sign up! jk

I thought the mmpr came into effect in April, 2014....but lps sold 1.4 M g between Jan1 and Oct. 31...must be a typo eh? wink wink

Health Canada says it does not track waiting lists at individual producers, though the department says there is adequate supply across the entire system. In October, for example, commercial growers produced 450 kilograms of marijuana, while only 240 kilograms were sold, the department says.

so that's with an 8000 patient increase ....240kg...what if the mmar people suddenly all jumped ship....
would the total of 450 kg produced be enough.....lol not a mathematician but...
so where is the adequate supply....??

in their minds...it's a virtual supply.....or it's so smokey in the rooms they do their "analysis" in that they forget which pile they already counted...and go through a lot of snacks

240kg divided by 13700 Mmpr patients buying LP bud = 17.5g per patient an month lol sure sounds about right.

Gee what a surprise, hell canada coming out saying how good the system is working and how much supply there is..lol. All these patients and the avg use is half a gram a day? Sounds about right for medical users haha. 450kgs produced and only 240kgs sold, wow that should tell you no one wants to buy your LP shit!!

With out knowing how they are counting new patients we wont know the true numbers. New patients could be the same users singed for several LPs and they are counted as unique for each time they sign up.

I think they are saying June they had a total of 8K and as of Oct 31 13K.

I'm with whatfg on wanting to know where this SUPPOSED $2.50/g is offered. Shake doesn't count either. It has to be a selection of strains at that price point for it to be a valuable argument in regards to affordable access. Nice try though HC, goofs.

Some have half price MEDS for those who qualify. So a $2.50 gram is really a $5 gram discounted for someone who can't afford full price. No available for all. Why should someone have to share personal income info with a lp just to get some discount is beyond me.

Good point...I signed up a a CC and they said if you have proof of low income, you get 10% off...we supplied the info & then when I called, they said they offer better than that on most days...WTF?? why ask for the proof if that deal isn't so great. when we gave them the information, they didn't mention they give better discounts on different days

I wonder what the total would be if all the recalled, contaminated and 'did not pass' medicine (ahem...cough cough choke) was counted?

So these LP's want proof your poor....disgusting bastards. The only way to prove income is with your tax return...and as has been said...fuck them.....
That's pretty much like laying your life open to a bunch of goons at a weed factory. And what guarantee's of privacy do they offer??? Where does that copy end up. sitting on somebodies desk.
how many people would YOU give your last assessment too.....
