It must be Christmas.

Well. I say dog. She might be a gerbil cross.

It's gonna need a name until I find the owner or my own dogs eat it. Any ideas? I was thinking Warhead.

Aww that sucker is cute. maybe you'll get to keep em, if ya can't reunite with rightful owner. There are sad sacks out there that abandon their pets. Does it seem like it had a good home and was loved, or is it skittish?

My last kitten showed up at my doorstep, at dawn on christmas morning, two yrs ago. felt like a damn miracle :-)

If it came down to it we'd give her a permanent home, but we don't know the dogs tendencies and have a 2 year old.... Risky?

Actually seemsva well cared for dog. Good coat, not skinny, tendency to lap perch. But we've trained it into staying down and on it's new bed in a couple of hours. Not a shit dog by all accounts.

the 'mutts' make the best dogs. small as she is, doesn't look like too much trouble... just a healthy distance between the pooch and the young ones, for awhile, and the she should begin to understand the hierarchy. be most cautious w the kids when you are feeding her. was relieved to discover that the rescue dog, i once had, seemed to have gratitude for his new home. sounds like yours may be a quick learner too. you may have a keeper. Pls don't name it pinworm lolz.
happy holidays

You're dead right on all counts Abe. The key thing here is to establish it's place in the pack, which right now is waaay down low. I'm surprised how good the kids have been with her. And her with them. It's a promising situation.
Are you a chic Growan? Outta curiosity

You think she was maybe dumped? How'd you find her?
She was running riot in a supermarket. The wife picked her up cos everybody pointing and shouting 'dog!!!' was freaking it out.
It seems in Ireland that picking up a wandering animal makes you a technical legal guardian. We have had this confirmed by the police and vets. It's like 'tag'. Your responsibility now....
She may have been dumped, but she doesn't seem enough trouble to justify it. I think she's temporarily lost.

Haha, can confirm.

I've been to Ireland. The rules seem to be a little looser there.

Good place.
