I'm all about the effort!
I did think a piece of gaffa tape and a large drill bit may help the res size situation..
And up with the pH. Protekt is meant to he pH 10, so I'll up the silica and see if that helps...
P.s. bare bulbs burn (eye) balls. Ouch...
No, they haven't had a flush. I don't see it doing any harm to try it though. Theory being if I get them to a happy pH, then reintroducing nutes at the right strength in the right environment should benefit?Growan, have you flushed the containers lately. If not I would flush them with pH'ed water a few times and then give them clean pH'ed water with Cal/Mag for the next waterings.
Are those pictures taken under the grow lamp, if so try and take some without the light, flash is ok. Post them, I am going back to read your post and see how you are doing things. No, they haven't had a flush. I don't see it doing any harm to try it though. I did think I'd underfed for a while which started all this off, but I guess it doesn't hurt to hit the reset button...
Thanks for taking the time, I'll give a quick recap...Are those pictures taken under the grow lamp, if so try and take some without the light, flash is ok. Post them, I am going back to read your post and see how you are doing things.
Just looked again and I can see the lights were out.
I was not able to find how your growing. Would like to know, if you have posted it just give the post # and I will go read it. Thanks
Disclaimer: just throwing out some questions, I'm not really sure what's going on...
What's your water source? quality/pH/ppm?
Over how many feedings did you go from 1/4 strength nutes to full strength?
Also, full strength? Have you spoken to others using this nutrient regime to verify at what strength they feed at? I'm pretty sure I remember a couple guys using DG that feed at 1/2strength or so...
Do you even have a ppm meter? Its kind of a necessity in hydro, unless you feel very lucky.
I know you're getting conflicting info here, but it seems to me that you increased the nute strength very quickly and maybe don't have a ppm/tds/ec meter to know how strong you're feeding them.
I would flush as recommended, to dilute the res and then water with 1/4 - 1/3 strength nutes and hope that sets them straight.
I defer to just about anybody though on this topic, I haven't grown hydro in a long time and I could be way off.
Hopefully I helped stir some thing in your mind.
I'm using a syringe from kids medicine. I also have a set of plastic spoons meant for kitchen measurements. The Dyna-Gro measurements are in tea spoons, and I got the 4 ml measure from the ½ tsp recommended, as I recall...My last comments on this, I would definately get a meter! How are you measuring your nutes? Oral syringe, Hydro measuring device, kitchen measuring spoons. Your rates will vary dependent on what device you are using to measure. My kitchen teaspoon is almost 8 ml, I use an oral syringe now for liquids and a Raw-soluble measuring spoon for any dry measurements.
Take a look at this and see if you can find a match.

Good basic info. I saw your using Mag-Pro, I cannot find the percent of Mag in the product.
Are you using a Cal/Mag product?
Good luck, if I can think of anything else I will reply, Be nice if I could think at all, LOL

Thanks for the decent resolution image from the Bible, I had only found a shitty one this morning.
I think I've read the grow weed easy Linky before, but I'll read it again, as i remember its a gold mine.
And.... I'll buy an ec meter. Right now. On eBay. I promise...
G, if you are using those plastic spoons, use your syringe to check out the ml in the plastic spoon teaspoon. I did mine and got 8ml per teaspoon. That can really make a difference in the amount of product your putting in.I'm using a syringe from kids medicine. I also have a set of plastic spoons meant for kitchen measurements. I'm using ph paper and a digi meter too, just in case I feel I can't trust one or the other! When I initially grew hydro I didn't have a meter. But I always mixed my nutes in the same order and ratio and would titrate the nutes into the water to meet plant needs.
I would start with a small amount and work up slowly and make note of plant response. It took some messing with at first, but eventually plants stopped dying
I had a strip test pH system and would first add all my nutes and then a couple drops of pH down and I'd be set.
How're the plants looking today?
