CFM inline fans & carbon filters

I'm not clear on the whole CFM rule.

I just picked up a 14inch 2500CFM carbon filter.

What is the minimum CFM that a inline fan will have to be able to handle in order to adequately function with the filter?

Put it this way: I know that a 950cfm rated filter performs flawless with a 700ish cfm fan. It's my go to combo when building smaller rooms. If I
Need two of them, I rock two. Three, well....
Is there a formula? I dunno. Intetested to see what other people have to say.
When charcoal filters first came out, I sware i remember them having a min/max cfm rating. You just don't see that minimum # stated anymore on most.
If you end up getting nothing from this thread, maybe call manufacturer of the filter you got.
Just curious....is the filter your talking about the Phresh 14X48?
I like phresh/phat filters.

Hey thanks for the reply. It's a 14x48 "Confidential" carbon filter. It was cheaper than the other models so I hope it does the job.

I'll definitely give the manufacturer a call to see what they recommend.

I thought it would be a good idea to ask you experienced guys here on RIU.

If you have any information to share, please do.
Thanks!
