And if you have a red flag and it makes td way to the police. And they make their way from dunkin to pursuing an investigation on you for growing or what the power usage may be.. They'll search your trash, talk to your neighboors, maybe a helicopter flir flyby depending if they think it's a grow. Just my tips. Pay yo bill
when would they search the trash? wouldn't that be against the law if most keep their trash in there yard? if your talking crooked cops yea i sorta see how this could be done. whats a red flag? and who puts it there?

Actually, the trash thing is a valid concern if there's any reason for them to be looking through it. When you put your trash out at the curb, that's not your property. The city/town always has anywhere from 10-20ft of allowance from the curb for things like light posts, fire hydrants etc. When your trash is at the curb it's on public property and subject to snooping, legally, without warrant.

I have actually gotten a letter from the power co. that said I was usin 66% more than my neighbors, it went on to share things I could do to reduce my bill and save energy.

No one ever called or showed up, it was just a letter. I'm in Colorado so no worries there. But my point is yes, they know and no, they don't seem to care
I'm not in Co ( nowhere near unfortunately) but I got that letter 6 different times already. Its a bar graph thing that kinda goes like this:

Average use ----------------------
Your neighbors
---------------
You -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I run 2-400's a coupla fans and an occasional space heater on a timer when its real cold.

didn't think of that. your right. so when you take your trash out on trash day is when there going to look. i guess we're talking non medical or non legal states. none of this stuff is actually happening though. just my thoughts.

I'm sure it's done, I would if I were a cop. Legal way to get enough evidence for a warrant. Of course you're right though, wouldn't be an issue in legal states. Canadians for the most part are not legal other than an old program where you could grow medical. If you don't give them a reason for suspicion none of this is anything to worry about.

That's a good point. I cant think of one state that does have a right to privacy act when it comes to your garbage. Think about it how do most people get caught for any dumb shit they do.

Never throw anything in your garbage that is proof of a grow and NEVER put personal info in the same bag with your grow garbage. Go to a car wash (one that you do it yourself) and use the opportunity to clean out your car and throw the grow garbage out too. As long as you are washing your car (spending money), you wont have anybody look twice. Try to find a local community garden for your oil soil disposal. They will welcome the delivery with open arms.
