Well...it does say led and "other" lighting. I run hps and led together...You're in the wrong section bud, most here are seeking to move away from HID tech.
In any case, to answer your question. A double ended bulb has a electrical connection on either side of the bulb instead of a single base on one end. Think T5/T8/T12 vs a CFL. What makes it special? Just the reflector really.
Thanks for sorting me out on that...they cover a larger area because of their reflectors and they have to be kept 3 feet away from the canopy because of the heat they produce. They can cover up to a 6x6. 1100 watts is a lot. But the area they cover its pretty good. They are more efficient than other hps. Around 40% efficiency. They have a pretty good spectrum and put out good par and high cri for hps. I would only use them in a commercial grow. Which I will be eventually until I can get a cob design UL approved. That's a couple years til that can happen. The UL process takes a long time.
Everyones raving. And I'm pretty sure all the documentation is accurate. They are knocking yields out the ball park.Who's raving??.........................hasn't been as widely adopted as expected, mogul based is still saturating the market.
Sounds beast, they sell those in the grow store here they are not cheap.Just ordered a commercial phantom de and demand is high. Its taking me three damn weeks to get the ballast. Got a ushio lamp and hydrofarm de hood thats optional sealed and air cooled.
Show me...............BIG re-lamping cost diff vs mogul at around a 7-8% light boost?? hvac demand increase, 36 inch distance requirement @ 1150w; 5x5 coverage not 6x6^^... no way. It has some nice pros, too many cons though imo.........Everyones raving. And I'm pretty sure all the documentation is accurate. They are knocking yields out the ball park.
Is that the DE reflector that doesn't cool the bulb directly????Just ordered a commercial phantom de and demand is high. Its taking me three damn weeks to get the ballast. Got a ushio lamp and hydrofarm de hood thats optional sealed and air cooled.
With all due respect how would i show you? fuck hvac, sealed, don't cheap out on a split system. Trust me I'm as sad as you are, bought all those 1k watt bulbs now this happens. Just put them on your christmas list and or an a/c. Im going to jump on though bro. please don't be mad at me.Show me...............BIG re-lamping cost diff vs mogul at around a 7-8% light boost?? hvac demand increase, 36 inch distance requirement @ 1150w; 5x5 coverage not 6x6^^... no way. It's cool, no worries. Even in a sealed room(s), your btu demand will go up with DE=== no way around that; co2 will helpWith all due respect how would i show you? fuck hvac, sealed, don't cheap out on a split system. Not the ac/de no. I have a luxor in the garage catching dust due to its size. No more big hoods for me, this one is compact .http://hydrobuilder.com/phantom-6-ac-double-ended-reflector-unit-w-lens.html?dzid=csegps_PHR6020&gclid=COmti4HIiMQCFQeNaQod8lsAVgShow me...............BIG re-lamping cost diff vs mogul at around a 7-8% light boost?? hvac demand increase, 36 inch distance requirement @ 1150w; 5x5 coverage not 6x6^^... no way. Gavita 1000 DE is the best of its kind BUT I am with PSU, major increase in heat, and 6X6 is a no-go, half the light ends up on the wall and that would be 20W/ft² (wasted grow space and popcorn trimming party). I think you would get good intensity in a 4.5X4.5 (40W/ft² possibly similar to the intensity we aim for with COBs).Show me...............BIG re-lamping cost diff vs mogul at around a 7-8% light boost?? hvac demand increase, 36 inch distance requirement @ 1150w; 5x5 coverage not 6x6^^... no way. In other words, COBs FOR THE WIN!!! keep in mind they put out a lot of heat. So they have to be 3 feet away from the canopy. So the spread ends up being 6x6. In commercial grows. There would be multiple lights. So they over lap making up the watts per square foot. Their hood does direct most of the light downward.Gavita 1000 DE is the best of its kind BUT I am with PSU, major increase in heat, and 6X6 is a no-go, half the light ends up on the wall and that would be 20W/ft² (wasted grow space and popcorn trimming party).
