My water is tap using GH flora my base ppm on my water is 250 ish i think pH 9+ lol water taste great though!!! :-)

I have a RO question now how do you now its RO?
At work we have this huge tank that water runs though then into a uv filter when i tested it out it was ppm 0 is that RO? pH was 9+

Ec/PPM goes up, PH goes down=plants require less nutes.
Ec/PPM goes down, PH goes up=Plants require more nutes
Ec/PPM stable, PH goes up=Equilibrium=Good thang.
Watch out for pathogens if your ph is dropping as well :)

1.3ec @ 5.8ph has been the sweet spot for my haze :) no top off needed. 1.5ec for my OG cause shes a fkn cow

I don't know what it is but 0 ppm is just like ro water. PH is kinda meaningless with 0 ppm. It should be good to use if your nutes have enough cal mag. I do fine with 300 ppm tap water but I plan to try RO someday soon to see if I can do better.

Its deionised water I found out on the interwebs they say its ultra pure water. But I scored a RO system local on craigsplace for $25 bucks its here..

Can I just ditch the holding tank and run it into a bucket to get my water? It says it takes for ever to fill and thats what the tank is for so I figured I could just not use it...
It says it makes 17.32 gpd hope thats good need to do some research on these things before I just in lol...

Can you explain this a little further?
let me start of by saying that I check my ppm/ph after I refill with fresh nutes (7 day ) .. 24 hrs later I check ppm.ph again then I can tell if there eating which will send the ppm down , and the ph is slighy up like .5 tells me there little hungry , if the ppm stays the same and the ph up slighty its at it happy place......but that's just a rule of thumb ....

Here what I do , res change on 7th day , fresh RO water , nutes , say my ppm is 700 ph 5.8 .. @ 24hrs later my ppm is 650 ph 6.0 , that's telling me she is eating and happy.. wensday check ppm 520 ph 5.9 she still eating and happy ( this is topping off the rez with RO water , no nutes ) Friday check again ppm 380 ph 6.0 still eating and happy ..from Friday to sunday I wont top off cause they will have a fresh rez change on 7th day....

Brilliant!
That is exactly the dummy's guide I needed.

Use EC not ppm
I've never understood why it matters whether you use EC or PPM. All you need a meter reads consistently. If my PPM meter reads 200ppm lower than it should I should still know if my plants have to much or not enough nutrient solution based on what they drank the next day

Thats a good question I never fully understood. My Blulab only reads ppm and Ive never had a problem

Well you use EC because its universal. 1.0ms/cm or 1.0 EC is 1.0EC in Scotland, China, Australia, America and it doesnt matter if its a Bluelab Milwaukee or Hanna or Eutech.

PPM can be used provided you give us the scale your meter is measuring it. 1.0 scale, .7 scale or .5 scales are used commonly. So a 1.0 EC reading is 1000ppm 1.0 scale. 700ppm on .7 scale and 500ppm on .5 scale

See how it gets confusing. A 700ppm, 500ppm and 1000ppm could all have the same EC level.
