Trusting seed sources...

Is there a best forum to ask about seed companies? (edited to make it a bit simpler for readers)

Sounds kind of iffy to me. I tell everyone about herbiesheadshop.com
they don't make you use cash and offer a guarantee/replacement services.

There are alot of banks like herbies too.

Hello, this is my first post, and would welcome suggestions on where best to post my question regarding seed sources. I've been looking into growing a couple of plants for personal use and have found a couple of strains I'd like to try. One of the seed sources (San Francisco based Full Spectrum) has a website and, through email correspondence, offers to send seeds but I need to send cash or money order (keeping the recipient field blank), to a mail box annex. I've no reason to mistrust, but would like to ask if others have ordered from them with good results since, well, sending payment like that calls for due diligence. The other company, Southern Humboldt, I've no concern with in terms of their veracity. Both seed banks have [very] high cdb strains which I'm wanting.

Guess my first question is which forum would be best for my question.

Thanks in advance!!
Legal or illegal? If you aren't legal, you won't find a trustworthy source in the USA, except maybe darkweb sellers. Herbies, Attitude, PeakSeedsBC, RCMC, and many more are all trustworthy sources of good seeds, they are in Canada or the UK though.

Legal (have MM rec papers for California).

It is highly illegal to use the US mail system to commit a federal crime. This is why it is what it is. Feels like dark scary land out there. The fault of people who thought that restricting something people need only creates false prisons and black markets.

Welcome to the black market.

The worst thing that happens is you waste money. Ive never heard of anyone who suffered any real consequence for being caught ordering a few seeds. But maybe that's because they're all locked far, far away for thier transgressions.

It's germinating that's illegal. And you're probably more likely to get in trouble going up the street for a bag.

I think he was more referring to a shipper from in the US. His ass would go to pound in ass prison. Bubba will lova him.

Right you are if it were, say, a seed company in the Netherlands. They are using international mail so they are out of the loop and so are you. Maybe customs will swipe them and leave you a note inside, but usually these things go through.

Yea I kind of jumped the gun before I realised what I was talking about, sorry dude. I forget sometimes that in parts of my country, you don't have to hide under rocks and keep your hobbys a secret from family :/

I don't think the replies understood that it's legal to sell/purchase seeds for medical purposes within California. I could drive to a dispensary in Los Angeles to buy them, but I can't get there without a lot of time and trouble, and no dispensaries in my area sell seeds. So you see, the answers were not helpful for me. I've simplified my question, since I was hoping to hear, if nothing else, which forum might hold the most knowledgable answers. No big deal.

We told you that you won't be mail ordering seeds from within the US. I offered the suggestion of looking at clones (since you are legal and in CA) because it will take quite a few seeds to get as good of a plant. We offered multiple seed banks that would be more than happy to ship high quality cannabis seeds to you at no risk to you. What more can you ask for. You have the best seed options available to the world, you will have to look elsewhere for your local options. You got the best you can hope for. Chill and understand it may not be how you hoped/expected.

Sorry, I should have explained that I'm trying to locate lab-tested, confirmed high cbd (10-20%) and low thc strains, for my own personal medical tincture. The banks (Euro and Canada) I see online sometimes like to add "cbd" in the name of some plants, and might even go so far as to say "high cbd," but I've not found one that seems to take it as seriously...most are geared for recreational use, with the high cbd being 2% or so. Nothing against recreational, just not what I want.

If you know of trustworthy seed banks carrying the Cannatsu, Harlequin, etc., strains, lab-tested and confirmed, please share. I'm not interested in getting high, so lots of kickass thc? not interested. That's why I was keen on two of the strains that I managed to see online, grown here in CA, and—seemingly—offered for sale for medical purposes. I've posted in a Newbie forum for reason; am up for learning, but posts about getting slammed in the ass in prison don't help.

LOL! You're pretty cool dude. Like you picked that tool out of a line up blind folded. Wish I could help, but not familiar with CBD strains. Check this Cali seedbank out. Bet if you could get ahold of the owner she might can help you or advise. Otherwise I got nothing.

LOL. That was about the seed seller stupid enough to ship seeds within the US to within the US. They are asking for it, nothing to do with you, so you shouldn't get butt hurt, lol.

One of the two strains you named is clone only, the other I quickly found from a international bank I'm unfamiliar with.

Why do you want seed over clone? You mention lab tested ... but seeds will vary, best lab test results you can get would be an average from many resulting plants being tested. With clones your lab results will actually have meaning since they were from the exact same plant...

Okay, my turn to LOL. Honestly, I'm even less clear about how I could find clones. I understand the concept, but didn't know that clones could be available. (You can tell I'm not really in the loop.) I smoked for a few years back in the mid 70s, but dropped it for lack of interest. Now, for other reasons, interested again. And I don't mind a modest thc effect, but would want to trust the clones were one of the strains I'm hoping to grow, low thc, high cbd-thca-cbda, and the many other low or non-euphoria elements. You see how newbie I am. Gotta ask sometime, right?
