still having car problems?

So i posted a thread about a month a half ago. Basically my truck kept overheating so I listened to snapsprovolone and had a pressure test done on the cooling system. $20 bucks later they found the waterpump was leaking, which I could have changed myself. But decided to have a shop do it for me because I wanted the timing belt changed too, which I didn't want to do.. also had the front main seal replaced.. So $530 dollars later my truck is still overheating.. So I take it back in and they did another pressure test and said the it was thermostat housing, I was like fine replace, but make sure it's not overheating.. So $240 dollars later I get it back and is still over heating. Now it's in the shop and now the say it's the radiator.. The shop owner says "it's really weird".. WTF? Am getting raped?

I think you needed to get second opinions before spending all that money.
I guess it's suppose to be done today, this really sucks.. I've been without a ride for over a month.. And it won't stop raining and snowing.. I live in city but it feels like I Iive in Alaska without a vehicle.. but if it's still overheating today when I pick it up, I am taking it elsewhere

Should have flushed the radiator and system first. Maybe even had a shope remove the radiator and boil it out and repair any leaks. Maybe flush it a couple of times to get any built up gunk out of the block and head. Use a professional flush. Then replace thermostat. Get a look at the block and make sure there are no coolant trails coming from between the head and block. Make sure the oil don't look like mud(head gasket/warped head). Then change the water pump, thermostat housing.

Sounds like they went a little backwards on yours. At least once they figure it out you will have a totally overhauled system.

of course they went backwards they did the most expensive stuff first. First thing you check pump. Just take off cap turn on car and wait to see if the water moves when it gets hot. If it doesn't it's probably the thermostat but maybe pump. Replace thermostat first because it costs $15. Then pump. If that doesn't work take out radiator and get it rodded $50. After that I'm not sure what is next.

I had that problem on my 96 Ford truck about a decade ago. I flushed several times and it corrected it. But, I had driven it hot and I have coolant trails on the block at the head gasket. I'm pretty sure the head is warped a little, but haven't added coolant in years. And the motor runs like brand new even tho it's almost 2 decades ago. And a mechanic has never touched my truck.

But, I still say you've almost overhauled the whole system now. Get that radiator boiled out and system flushed real good and when you get it figured out it should be years before you have another overheating problem. Unless it's a head gasket or warped head. Then your talking big $$$$$.
