Its probably just a fuse
I think she has a wedgy...ouch
It started slowly over the summer mainly when in traffic.. yeah its definitely is boiling over and steaming.. I thought I was a pretty good mechanic, damn I was wrong...Is it actually overheating, like steam and boiling over? Or is it just the gauge saying it's overheating? I've had sensors go bad and peg my temp sensor but the engine was fine. Did they do a correct purge after the work to get all the air out? Was it something that came on gradually or just one day it overheated? Does the cooling system have external hard metal tubes( crossover tubes or something?) carrying coolant or is it all internal passages with rubber hose connections externally? Those metal tubes can corrode and plug up internally. Sounds like 90% of shops that throw the "easy" fixes at it and hope it works without doing any actual investigation. A pressure test really has nothing to do with overheating, just if you have a leak..which if left unattended will overheat..is that what happened, a leak leading to low coolant leading to overheating? what motor? head gasket go if it overheated too much? I'd start with a proper flush - drain the system, fill with flush medium, run for recommended time, drain, fill with plain water, run, drain, put in new thermostat, fill with coolant.
Over the last 15 yrs I've acquired tens of thousands of dollars worth of tools, along with tens of thousands of my fathers tools, because i DON'T trust shops. The only thing I don't do is tranny rebuilds and rear axle rebuilds, but I'll pull and install em for rebuilding. I just had to have the tranny in my truck rebuilt, i wasn't able to remove it so i dropped the truck off..all the factory clamps that held the wires and cooling tubes are gone and replaced with zipties..pissed me right off. I'm to anal about my work, i don't just fix something. I'll take the whole assy. apart, clean, sand, paint and lube it before it goes back together. I've never had any of my work come back to me due to my work.It started slowly over the summer mainly when in traffic.. yeah its definitely is boiling over and steaming.. Damn for real? How did you find out? Makes perfect senseI had overheating conditions caused by the catalytic converter.
I had a rebuilt engine put in and it was overheating,,also caused by catty converter,,,truck still runs mint to this day,,not mine any more but still runningI had overheating conditions caused by the catalytic converter.
mechanic drilled a big fuggin hole in it. No more probs but the converter was plugged and cost me 400.Damn for real? How did you find out? Makes perfect sense

I got a 2003 Econoline 150,,V6 bought it new and it still rolls for me today,,over 315000 kms on her,,put a tranny in her at 250000 kms,,other than regular wear and tear,,,it's a great truckWell other then this it's a great truck...
My bought new 96 Ford 4.0 V6 has just under 200k on it. A mech has never touched this truck. And the motor has only required general maintenance. I changed the plugs once. It looks like a piece of shit tho. I just can't get rid of it because it like that energizer bunny. Keeps going and going and I rarely have to do anything to it.I got a 2003 Econoline 150,,V6 bought it new and it still rolls for me today,,over 315000 kms on her,,put a tranny in her at 250000 kms,,other than regular wear and tear,,,it's a great truck

Yeah I did the work myself. Because I hated the if you bring the parts you do not have a warranty on the labor for the most part out here. I married a mechanic thinking it HAD to get better. He's a real doll and will break the hard bolts loose for me and taught me a couple tricks. Essentially he was a 9 level they don't do shit. So the moral to that story is marry a REAL mechanic.Whenever I used to fix my car I used to buy the parts trade and take them to the mechanic and pay labour only.
I used to be heavily into cars and go to auctions. Anything electrical was a nightmare and needed the auto electrician.
I think you need a better mechanic for diagnosis first.
