Always ready to help people with honest questions on led lights

It would be a shame to close the thread because of you two..

Obviously testing how far you can go..predictable..

So what company do you own so consumers can make informed decisions where they spend their money?
And not because of you and Rong, your content free brother?

It's especially childish and unfortunate given RIU's role in the overall DIY LED community. This is the center of the online LED Universe, and unfortunately there are two black holes in the star system.
And you only provide quality content? I have not seen any content, ever from you.

But, your troll sense brought you here.

We made a few harmless jokes aimed at no one but Mr. Cree, and then the name calling began.

This is hardly the center of the LED universe, either. You don't get around much.

I am about to pull the trigger on this light, but am not sure yet. Can someone help me decide...
http://www.gothamhydroponics.com/featured-products/lighthouse-hydro-ion-8-1546w-led-grow-light-fsf-uvb.html
I was going to run it in a 8'x8' room. Too much light?? And what kind of yield should I get?
Well, you have 1546 and 806wPar Claimed. @$2150.

$2.66 a PAR Watt? I'd say that is pretty good. If I had an 8x8 I would want 2 eventually.

And why build, tell me again? Why would I, at this price....if the claims are correct.

They seem to be claiming quite the efficiency level.

And tagging, and quoting and acting like whiny little... oh you already covered that. Perhaps they want to troll this thread till it gets locked and then shift the blame as usual. Weird, kind of like shitting where you eat.

More of that positivity....

Psssst....that sheep has a funny tattoo.... meah...

The only reason you are worried this thread might get locked and think you can predict something is because you and your other 'positive' friends succeeded in doing just that, trolling a thread till it gets locked.

You are essential afraid karma might pay you a visit...you're being ridiculous with the whole locking thing.

And that first sentence is obviously not true.... funny way of helping...

Just out of curiosity, why does Epistar get criticism? It seems Cree is a much more popular name and if a light uses Cree diodes then they are almost always more expensive…But I use some of the Cree lightbulbs and a few of them were faulty. Also, the Cree bulbs were the least expensive of all the LED lightbulbs. Cree are expensive diodes when it comes to LED grow lights, but they are inexpensive diodes when it comes to LED bulbs.

Which brings me to my second inquiry...

Will someone explain more about what Top Bin means and how do you know if your light is equipped with Top Bin diodes or not? Is there a pedestrian way to check? Is there something visibly apparent to look for? Do Cree lightbulbs use something other than "Top Bin" diodes?

Is a Top Bin Epistar better than a lesser-quality Cree?

If a company uses Epistar diodes, but backs them with a great warranty, wouldn't that be an assurance of quality?

Thanks:)

You guys do that a lot..., make random statements with no factual foundation. Everything about that post is spot on and exactly why you reply with that reply. So transparent...

You used to like cheetahs... but then you upset yourself at riu...

Howdy folks,

Is there any grow history with optic vero lamps? On supra's recommendation i grabbed the 360w vero 29 lamp. It is schefuled to arrive Friday. My space is 2 x 4'. Ive got about 5' of height.

Ive grown a few nice buds with a 500 actual watt mars. Im psyched to see if i can do better with the vero29s. Appreciate any pointers, observations, cautions etc.

Thanks for generously sharing your expertise here. Ive learned quite a bit. Enough to consider a diy vero v2 lamp one day soon.

So, what's your plan, Stan? I like the Vero29. Active heat sink? Passive? Drive them 1/2 amps or less?
700ma?

The optic vero 29 360 is a 'factory' built lamp. You can find the product performance details on optic veros page.

If you get a chance to review those values please post back with your impressions.

Thanks P, very optimistic. My experience with Mars was very satisfactory until it smoked up. I grew a few primo+ ladies with it. Never had bleaching @~24" . I had some decent aroma during flowering. The cured product wasnt hayish but it wasnt really fine either.

What characteristics of vero 29s make for better fragrance and eliminate bleaching issues?
