hi all....can i run a 600w hps in my closet without exhuast? with a fan blowing on the light?

You can get by with that temp, but keep an eye on it, it can get hot fast! Yeah use the MH for veg, and HPS for flower, some people use their MH for the first 2 weeks of flower, they say it keeps the plant from stretching as much. As far as seeds go, I use a cheap T8 florescent light, the roots seem to like that light, I let them stay under the T8 till they are ready to be transplanted out of the germination tray.

should try to get the temp downto around 75 if u can. And keep an eye on humidity, if it gets to high when you have nice dense buds you run into mold, and u cant smoke moldy bud. This is one of the reasons ventilation is so important.

it is cold in closet.wintertime..is that good or bad? thought would help keep light cool,with fan.have nother closet not cold...what should I do? no exhaust....was gonna cut nice hole at bottom of door if I had too...light will b here any day...starting with bad seeds...ordered from drcronic...couple seeds...hope they come...I would be so set with that kinda bud....ya know....any suggestions on coset? or on how to get seeds easier?? could really use some advice....ty ty

Get a t8 right on top of them when they begining to break ground. Which light are u talking about? 600w, 400w, or a t8 flourecent?

If u r using one of those high powered lights, keep it far away from them when they are babies. And slowly ease it closer over the next couple of weeks.

Get 2 5-6" 3ft long heat vents, the circular aluminum ducts, cut two holes that fit those ducts, one on a low corner and the other diagonally up high. Buy 2 strong ass 100-120mm fans and use the bottom vent for intake and the top for exhaust, try to get the exhaust piping over the lights. Thats actually what i did and works great in 80f ambient temps. Just have to get creative, and buy powerfull fans to make up for the HID heat.i took my closet doors off and replaced them with cardboard so i could cut for my vents withoug ruining the doors.

whole building? if I got long dryer vent tube an cut hole bottom of door,with fan blowing down in closet,,,would that work??

I would recommend a deoderizer in the bud room and possibly a carbon filter hooked up to your exhaust vent

Yeah man if smell can get you in trouble then prepare diligently to stop it. It is underestimated how much bud smells, especially right before harvest and drying. Hopefully this isn't a issue for u. Looking forward to seeing the room when you get done. Be prepared to be consumed by growing though, it's an addiction in its self.

my mate runs a 1000w in a tin shed with nothing no fans no inlines zero i have seen it get as hot as 45c in ther with no real issues for him at all maybe abit of yellowing from stress and him not feeding them right but he pulled just over 1 p 4 ounces off 4 plants

22"x30" probably only 1 if you veg it for a bit. Seems kind of small for 600 watts,hell 22x30 seems to be a small closet, but if you can stabilize temps your good to go. Id say 1 plant or 2 plants 12/12 from seed.

Your thinking is wrong..IMO.
Not how many,but how big.
I didn't read the thread, but if your area is that small,get a high yeilder,crop for multiple tops(I got 45 on my recent blue Hawaiian) and make conditions perfect for yield..and,your hps is not fitting in that space unless you modify a reflector or bare bulb it(which is recommended in most large grows)
I am supplementing 1200w of hps with 1kw of led..have 2 of these and a c.o.b. led..I recommend one for your space..I like mine fine!

77f with a 600w hps? If so then id say your set as long as your house doesnt get much hotter then that. However, i am a noob, and for some reason im thinking 600watts is overkill for 660 square inches.. And yes 12/12 from a seedling. It won't get much veg growth but it wont get as big either. I have a hard time fitting my single lst"ed bushed out indica in my 2x8 feet of space.

TOO LATE...I HAD 1 CHANCE TO BUY GOOD LIGHT...I got it now...no turning back...I didn't want a chessy light that later on would say ...wish I had that 1....hps best way to grow...good yield hands down,,,right?
