Okay so please bear with me , I'm from aus and I'm not seeing a end to these draconian laws on prohibition going anywhere in the foreseeable future in my home land , and quite frankly North America , god bless the states that have passed medical laws for family's/ carers that can now relieve symptoms of there loved ones from something that's organic and natural , as appose to prescriptions an arms length in some cases.

Anyways
I'm a big believer in mmj
I guess that's why we are all here , but I'm taking a unpaid leave from work to study agriculture / horticulture at university to gain some qualifications
In the industry , shortly Thereafter id like to put together a grow portfolio as such , and then I guess the ultimate dream would to be to work in the medicinal marihuana industry
I plan on having a batchelor of agriculture from university of Newcastle but I'm unsure if Australian degrees or qualifications are valid in northern us . Where I'd look for work , what jobs I'd be able to apply for , or even if I was able to work in the breeding industry

I do have a valid passport
Australian green card
First aid
About 5 1/2 years as a orderley at a hospital

Good luck - you'll most definitely need it. The likelihood of a foreigner being granted a green card/visa in order to grow/breed marijuana in the US is probably zero. Growing is still a federal crime.

EDIT: Visa applicants are also drug-screened during the application process. A failed urine test results in a ban from entering the US for the next several years.

They do, unfortunately. Happened to a buddy of mine about 5 years ago. He received a 3-year ban from entering the US for testing positive for cannabis, and was told that if he wanted to re-apply after the ban expires, that he should take regular drug tests during the ban period to prove that he was consistently drug free during the 3 years. Pretty crazy.

You don't need a degree to work with cannabis, you just need to be where it is.

I knew that was always the case cc , just wanted to hit the ground running with my best feet forward so to speak. Surely they hire somebody with genuine grow expierence and a degree in agriculture / horticulture over somebody wirh just expierence ?

Because I'm from Australia am I just not in the right sub forums , what's the go !?

It's not all beer and bullshit , I want to make a difference , it's not like somebody's green thumb can just be switched off once they have ridden the indoor grow train , it's illegal in Australia , and how could I ever conduct a life's work looking over my shoulder ?

I guess I should blame myself for having such high expectations
But the fact that it's legal in some of your states to register yourself as a caregiver and grow freely and sell to patients

It's created the giant economical boom you guys have needed

It's not for the money either
Once I'm finished in university I could sit behind a desk and take home 6 figures a year doing so in botany or another sub avenue

I'm chasing my dream guys

I've been hit by life harder then avander Holyfield the last 3 months and I'v realised that life is and always will be to short to be unhappy
