Just wondering what you guys use too test soil and water for pH lvl and what do you use too change your pH in either one. I'm going too be using a bubble stone in a storage tank for my water for the extra oxygen the stone will put into it (I've heard great things about doing this), so I figured if I'm going threw all that trouble already im going too be very strict with every aspect of this years grow and see how much it actually makes a difference. Can anyone help me out with cheap options for checking soil and water pH and then what too use too fix them?

That for just the water? And is what your talking about that red and blue stuff I think it is the colors
You wont need to check the PH every time. Once you know your water PH, it wont change unless you change the source. Don't waste too much money on the meter, just something basic will be fine. There are many sellers of PH adjuster. I use Blue Planet Nutrients for everything that I use, but you can go to a pet store, or a pool store and buy their PH adjusters. It is all the same chemicals just different packages and different prices.

I know plenty about soil PH. I know that in most cases that as long as you have a good soil mix, your shouldn't have any issues with PH. Take a look for some good mixes and you will understand.

Don't trust those fuckers! They look at you as less than human and would rather spit in your face than talk to you. They want your money and could care less about any type of quality product or if they fuck you over. Amish and Mennonites are shady as fuck and don't follow our laws. They do not have quality standards or any type of regulations. Get something good that is trustworthy. Roots Organic is a good bag soil.

When growing in soil.....and using synthetic nutrition.......pH all ingoing liquids to 6.5 and use a liquid "zyme" of some type and FORGET about soil pH!

Soil self pH's!

If your going organic......Forget about soil pH. Same as above.....soil self pH's.

Spending money on a soil pH meter you will find online and cheap,,,is an ineffective meter.....Unless you spend BOO COO bucks on a LAB grade soil meter,,,your NOT getting anything worth while....
TRUTH is you don't need it!

Metering flow through is only the pH of the flow through, NOT the pH of the soil.
If you use a stick in the soil meter. You must do it at the same time of day and at the same exact time after any watering to be even close to consistent pH readings.......You see, when you water/feed the pH swings one way and as the soil dries back out it swings back to where it was when you started. So if you check it at a different time, you will get a different reading...

Bottom line - Soil self pH's. Keep the living bio's in the soil alive and active and you should be fine.....

Just start with the right soil.

Where can you nget those? Not at the same place as the water pH stuff I'm guessing
The inexpensive two-prong ph soil meters at retail stores ($5-$20) aren't very accurate. I spent $60 on a Control Wizard Accurate 8 meter (inspired by other growers who use it on another forum). It's pretty accurate. Burnish the probe surface with the whetting cloth (use 0000 steel wool when the cloth wears out), insert into the soil, leave it for 10 minutes, take the reading.

I think it's a great tool to have. Between it and measuring runoff ph, you get a pretty good idea of where your soil is. I think it's handy when opening a new bag of soil. Some times there's variations. It was also useful testing the effect of hydrated and dolomite limes. It's not essential, but useful when a need arises.

Amish are Amish. They are who they are. I dealt with them for several years in upstate NY and I don't have a good word to say about them. Believe me when I tell you that they have nothing but contempt for you and me. Give them your money if you want while you are paying their portion of taxes. I wouldn't and don't support them. They take work away from people that pay taxes and carry insurance while providing a sub-par product (at least as much as they can get away with). After several years of dealing with daily, I wouldn't buy a stick of gum from them. If you want to, have at it dawg.

We must have decent tap water in Maryland, because I've been growing in soil for 4+ years and I've never tested my water or my soil and my plants are fine (knock on wood).

Most people have decent tap water. It is the really hard water that is a pain in the ass.

I get what your saying man and I agree a lot of Amish are dicks but the ones around PA are half decent. We sell them firewood on a weekly basis and they are very nice people IMHO. Usually have home made pies and things when we drop off the logs lol

Sure sell them anything you want, just don't buy from them. They don't wash their hands or take showers bro, I wouldn't eat anything they make. They are half decent to your face, but when you leave.....
