What do you miss from your youth ?

Actually I miss a time when you could leave your car and house unlocked. When people respected police and police respected people. When your biggest worry was if little johnny is gonna tear your back yard up on his quad
when i was a kid you could range blocks from your house with your bike and only had to be close enough to hear your mom calling you when the street lights came on and nobody worried about you being gone for 6 or 8 hours.

My Pioneer QX-949 true quad receiver.
Still have it but the controls are worn.

Always looking for 4 channel records and tapes (8-Tracks) back in the day.

.I still run a Marantz Quad decoder in one of my stereos , i must have over 50 good quad albums & another 30 so so like 3 dog night type shit .

The real rare albums are the 3 channel ones , very few were made back in the 50's when stereo 1st came out , the center channel is a blended source of left & right at half the gain of l & r , very strange sounding shit .

And being able to get a drink of water at a gas station for free!

I remember riding through the center of town, past the general store, past the town common, past the police station, with our pellet rifles strapped to our handlebars to go shoot on the train tracks..late 80's-early 90's..no one freaked out..we had the cops show up a few times and let us pop off a few from their handguns...What the F happened to this country?

How about the old fire alarms at every intersection on the telephone pole , pull that switch & watch the fire trucks come .

The police callboxes were fun too ,pick up the phone & talk shit to the police operator then split :)
My gradfather was a Boston fireman for 30+ years, he's got an OLD - 30's or 40's fire call box in his basement..along with a hydrant.....his second after the police confiscated the one that was in his backyard..i still don't know how he got either of them. We had dye in the call boxes around our town..you couldn't pull'em....easily..lol. fishing line tied to a bike worked well..
