Do some research. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. The distance the light is kept from the canopy is entirely based on the design of the particular lamp. A vero 29 or cxb3590 will have to be kept far away from the canopy because they're too bright. They will burn the canopy with radiant heat. I design my lamps to have less clearance on purpose. That's why I use vero 18 and cxb2530. They can be spread out better and put closer to the canopy without frying it.

You have this false idea that LED light is weak, but a vero 29 puts out a ton of radiant intensity, especially at higher currents. We're talking high enough to burn ants.

Who the hell said anything about wanting to build one of your piece of shit lights that cost 5x what mine did and yield the same results? Follow your instructions? you are paying twice the electricity and have to buys bulbs every so often cha ching cha ching and the Cree cobs ran soft last over 5 years 1/2 the elcetricity like I said and did you even read the link I posted #127 click on it and read it before I become a Gargoyle just ask the guys about me. It doesn't yield the same results, it yields way more.. lol. Your plants were like 1 foot tall. Those top colas were from 3 foot plants! lol. And you tell me my crap lights can't penetrate.

And you're the one that asked. Realstyles design is very similar to mine. He has a good DIY build thread too, but his cost more per watt than mine and is even more efficient! My lamps are cheaper!

Btw I checked some of your threads and really you need 2k for a 5x5 area and brag? I can use 744w for a 4x8 grow that's in progress. I use to grow with hid for a dispensary I should know the difference.

Church don't worry I'll be kicking his ass with pics of my grow lol. I take pics every other day. I wish I didn't lose my camera in the car accident last year. it had 2 years of me growing in and out of the dispensary.

All I know the stuff I grow under LED is insanely better then the stuff I grow under HPS. ( Even same strains )
Sure I get a little less weight and size , but the quality more then makes up for it. By a long shot.
I grow really good weed using HPS but LED is a whole different level.

It's stickier ( super glue sticky ) and more resinous, buds are tight and just plain brick hard, taste is way tastier, and the high is almost psychedelic.

Wish I had discovered LED years ago.
I plan on selling my last HPS and MH set ups soon.

Just the cooling hassle alone is worth the extra money, used to have massive intakes and exhausts, ducts running everywhere, having to run an AC for cooling, having to fight RH as the HIDs dries out the air too much...now it's a few oscillating fans. Electric bill is less the half.

And you don't need to jam the plants up close to the light, they may not look bright as HID, but they are just as effective. My lights have decent foot prints.

I'm extremely happy with my LEDS, quiet, cool...and weed is something else crazy good.

What leds are you using? because the lights I make will blind you but I dim them down only winter I turn them up.
