Causing arguments or engaging in hate speech on a thread may get the comments reported and it may not (often times maybe not though. Maybe people often just back out to avoid being further bullied. Or back out just to avoid more bs, especially when bullies are allowed to
continue bullying despite the consequences for said bullying or if they're
well-known-members within the community). That's usually how bullying works.
Reporting or not aside;
in the meantime others participating in the thread who've become emotionally charged themselves begin to engage in the arguing and before ya know it people are charged and bickering, arguing, fighting and flinging poo all over the place and reporting this and that and eventually robbing the thread of any pertinent information. Or even worse getting the
entire thread locked out by an admin/mod.
This is trolling 101 & advanced employed trolling 102.
I believe that's what the comments intended to incite hate and anger are meant for, period. To create a
selective hostel and unproductive environment. And I can't help but wonder how some people can continue conducting themselves in such a manner without one of two strange anomalies occurring,
1). they're conducting themselves in this manner and no one reports them.
OR
2). people report them but they continue acting as if there has been basically zero ramifications for their actions.
So although I understand the
intended function of the 'report' option, I am leery to trust that it isn't just another tool used by those whom embark upon these bullying tactics (trolls) to censor and restrict the use of this forum to anyone at the brunt of their constant bullying tactics.
In this case I couldn't help but wonder, can't a mod/admin see how easy it may be for a very small and select group of people to monopolize the use of this forum for their own specific desires?
....just my 2 cents.
