Are LED's practical for a grow room? (24 ft x 12 ft)

Not here to just piss on LED or COB but many ways to skin a chicken.... That's what its all about, but what pisses me off is people miss leading others into believing its the best i choose Hid for a reason i utilize heat to my advantage i have 0 heat issues its cost me 150 for mag ballest with hood n light 450 bucks and another 200 for exhaust a wooping 650 bucks to make almost 8 pounds @ 2000 a pound any one can do the math there and see total power was lets round it up 400 bucks so really who is gaining you worried about electrical costs
Lets put this into another prospective 8 pounds @ 2 k = 16,000 minus initial cost including power 1000 so 15,000 profit
How long you think its going to take LED or cob to catch up in savings or yield
lets not forget Diy cob is 800 + for 1 and that is not going to cut it cause at the end of the day pulling them numbers is efficiency in my books

Im with you on that 100%. If people want to use led and it works for them, great. But hps lighting is a superior light for sure if you don't care how much your power bill is and want to max your room out. Plenty of skin left after paying the power bill.

Good for you. This is the LED section. Go talk about your ways of skinning a cat elsewhere. You're just trolling here. I believe there is a florescent section just for people like you.

I'm not sure why you're arguing savings again. I thought we were pretty clear on an agreement there. Yes, 1000W DE is a more cost effective, and more practice to setup solution. You win I guess, even though I never disagreed.

Im not giving him crap for his set up. If you want to grow with led, grow with led. All I want to see is some pictures that compare to hps so you can prove your point that they can compare.

Only on RIU do you need pictures of plants to prove that one light is brighter than another. Only on RIU do you need pictures of an LED grow to suggest someone use HPS.

Only anywhere when you make claims that led compares with hps yield do you need to have some kind of proof so any one will believe you :wink:. Other wise its just talk. Talk is cheap. Im really done now :wall:
