I recently topped all of plants, never had a stretching problem, the nodes were and always short. Now since i topped all of them, all the tops are stretching for the light, and my light is only 2 feet away from the tops... Any suggestions on how to keep the nodes short?
My setup is:
-1000w solis tek ballast
-1000w mh 6k bulb
-Sun System AC Evo reflector
- 4x4x6'7" Gorilla tent
-FFOF/Happy Frog + 30% perlite (soil)

Crazy healthy plants dude. Very nice! As for the stretch, your in veg? I stay on veg nutes even after 12/12 for about 2 weeks to reduce stretch. Or so ive been told. Seems to work. But theirs a lot more skilled ppl on here... but, my 2 cents. 2 feet is far? Air cooled? Are you venting your light straight through your tent or via carbon filter, to reflector, to exhaust?

be sure they are not getting to much nitrate Nitrogen, this can cause stretching... in soil amoniacal Nitrogen is usually a better choice...

also what is your temp? if it is higher than it has been in past this would also cause more stretching...?

5500-6500k + less nitrogen without giving a deficiency. Topping will for sure make the other tops stretch fast. Thats the point. Tie them bitches or supercrop lol. Btw veg nutes during first two weeks of flower is so the plant doesn't go deficient during flower pre-stretch. If you start bloom nutes at 12/12 it wont stretch as much but she will most likely go deficient. Flower pre-stretch pulls a fuck load of N

I am in veg and the plants were germinated on May 9th. 2 feet is as close as I can get without it raising the temps and causing burning to the tops. I have a 8in phresh carbon filter outside the tent exhausting into a different room. The other side of the reflector is acting like a vacuum to get all the stinky air out of the room for a stealthy grow.

I plan on super cropping to make them as bushy as possible
that is just snapping branches, you could make them more busy or produce more colas
if you top more of the growing branches they will all grow two new shoots which can become colas
but it will take a bit longer as you will need to let them regrow a little
much of what you do now may or may not have a lasting effect overall depending on how much the plant stretches/grows when you flower it

I have not given my girls any nutes, I'm waiting for them to suck up what's in the soil to prevent nute burn, I have transplanted them into 5 gallon pots about 10 days ago

The extra N in the first 2 weeks of bloom is for the growth or stretch period......By not using bloom nutes in the first 2 weeks of bloom, you help avoid too much P too early! A tic of bloom nute at the first flip to bloom feeding (no more till 2 weeks) is thought to help boost the flip and possibly reduce some stretch.....I have not seen that as actually making a big diff.....But still did it that way when doing synthetic runs.....I don't use synthetics much any more. Sometimes to test a new line for someone or to attempt to manipulate a plant some.

The trellis is movable, I was too lazy to move it up. But yeah I plan on cropping more tops to keep it bushy

Looks like they are starting to become deficient...?

Some soluble Kelp & Humic Acid would probably do you some good... If your still in veg you could foliar the kelp, but add Fulvic Acid for foliar instead of Humic...

I'm sure your ladies have used most of the nutes in your soil by now..
