Headline states it all.Its been awhile and i just wanna make sure. Like i said, 150W HPS. Have 2 germinated and waiting on the other 4. Temp rage 80-83Deg F around reflectore. Do not have a dome, they are in party cups. Please and thank you RUI.

10-12 inches will be fine, it's more about temps than light intensity. Those little gals can handle way more than a 150 hps as far as intensity is concerned. Low 80's for seedling shouldn't pose a problem. I always try to target mid 70's though

same range for when i start veg and flowering? 12"
Na, you're gonna want to move it closer as they get older. I've gone a as close as 2-4 inches by the end of flower. Keep a small desk fan blowing either on the light or between the canopy and the light.

I was saying 12 inches is about the highest you'll want the go

Save your other seeds.. That light will flower only 1 medium size plant in a 2x2 space. If you keep them in 1/2 gallon pots you may be able to flower two plants. I have two 150's and they're a decent starter light, but they run hot. Blow a fan across the light. 12 inches is probably decent height to start. You might be better off starting them under a few cfl's until they have a few sets of leaves.

Don't put a dome on them. It will heat the internal temps inside the dome and plants will stretch like crazy.

You can only run one plant under a 150 watt HPS. And light intensity is very much a problem if you keep the light too close. Good luckl!
Come on guys, let's give correct info here buddies. You can run 4 plants in that 2x2 area with that 150 hps. You just have to understand what you're working with. I ran four 3 gal smart pots in a 2x2 with no problems. I have a thread about it, I'll try to find it and post the link. You can veg 1 plant for 6-8 weeks, top it, train it, and bush it out like this

^^^that is a single plant vegged for 8 wks, then flowered under a 150

^^^ and this is a pic with 4 plants in 3 gal smart pots. This way actually yielded more and with less veg time. Same setup 2x2 with a 150 hps

As for light intensity, trust me when I say it's the heat NOT the intensity that will kill that little seedling.

As always beautiful @Gary Goodson.

@WeedyBlooDShoT I personally start my seedlings on the windowsill and under a very small CFL like <20 watts. Simply because those little guys are only gonna absorb so many photons. Much of the light from that 150(I got one too) is wasted. Not a big deal really, just saying. I also concur with 12" and not burning up the little ones. And yeah, if you got enough airflow you can drop the light down to 2"-4" during flower when the plant is well established.

I was thinking of starting with cfls this time- but my 150 worked just fine last time for a first grow and i am on a budget--- im ganna barley have enough for my ffof and perlite--- i probly not even ganna buy worm casting or nutes for that matter

Remember, bigger pots = bigger roots = bigger yield. Btw, I just found out my phone is racist! It kept trying to autocorrect "bigger" to the N word:oops:

So, to answer you're question, yes those pots will work, but you would get a bigger yield with 2-3 gallon pots. I also understand that might not be an option so the best thing to do would be to induce flower early. I'd say wait for 4-5 nodes, top, then flower.

Wait, what? No fertilizer at allo_O ffof will only last about a month or so.

Ill try and go up one size in pots...Idk if i wanna top this grow- i did my first. Wanna try a regular ine. maybe i will top 1 of 3. take a look at the set up.... The fans are not in yet. The clip on will be once i buy another the motor burnt out >.<..... ANd i baught that soil for starters since there is no local nursery that sells what i really neeed. It does have ferts in it... Hope not to much for the seedings.

I feel ya brother. I just use a plain ole ordinary CFL like you use around the house. Sounds like you gotta handle on what you are doing. The HPS will do fine. I actually like the 150 for a micro grow.
