I am here to help in any way. But I'd like this to not be another LED vs hps grow because the proof is in the pudding . i want everyone to do good and I don't think I'm any better than anyone else. Just another hard headed grower . But I can back my shit up because this is all I do. Let's start debating things worth debating like , foot print , light distance , aircooled vs not , fresh air vs co2 , pesticides vs not, dry trim vs wet trim . No advanced Nutes haters or led promoters here please lol because those are the same circles over and over

I'm looking at 46.8 currently, 51.8 if I overdrive my ballasts...

I think I'll leave it as is and see how it goes.

Thanks
No problem. That way of calculating will soon be a thing of the past with DE's tAking over the market. I know people who are covering 5x8 areas with one 1000w DE and getting the same yields as the would have with 2 SE 1000s. (Which wasn't really the best of yields to begin with, but either way, you get the point.)

OK cool, I've got DEs so I'm good to go me thinks.

I'm planning a 4k room but I've got lots to put together before I get that far.

Thanks again

Is electrical efficiency more important than space effectiveness or is there a trade off, or maybe the perfect balance ?
grams per watt vs grams per meter square gpw vs g/m2
How many plants your running in your 5x5?
Anywhere from 4-8 in a 5x5
Electrical efficiency is not AS important to me. I use a larger footprint, therefore more space to
Cool, more fans to move the air.
I run a sealed room so there is more electric being used with dehus . Really it's the most inefficient way of growing, but you get the most bang for your buck . If you pull the numbers, the juice is worth the squeeze .

Grams per square meter is using your space more efficiently .. But at the same time to max your grams m2 you will lose out on the gpw side of things and have a poor yield when looking at grams per kW/hrs used

he who gets the most nugs at the end of the year for the least amount of money invested . So th percentage of that ugly word "profit".
But then comes hours invested and blah blah.

The people that change res' and push buttons and get 2 per light in 4x8 trays using fresh air . These are the efficiency guys !

I actually think fresh air is more expensive in a climate like mine, hot as hell in the summer cold as fuck in the winter. My buddy runs 3 600s fresh air, still has to use a air conditioner in summer, heater and humidifiers in the winter. Is always sucking some central air through his room too, making his house inefficient.

In my opinion, sealed rooms are the most efficient for my climate, because you'll never have enough control with fresh air here, with our extreme temperatures and humidity, your lucky if u finish a harvest. It's 98 degrees outside and 80% rh right now. My boys window banger runs 24/7 right now to keep his light off temp minimum of 74. His lights on temperates right now are like 88-92.

But how do you smoke a kwh ?

unless you are primarily motivated by saving the planet (environmental causes)
it seems logical that producing more in a smaller space in a shorter time frame is of more use than saving some money on electricity imo

when your running 36w a square foot i would think you'd need a lot of room to make any kind of full results. I thought the standard was 50 to 60w and those people pull down 2 pound with a 4x4 with minimal veg and blah blah blah.

When paying 34 cents a kW/hr your looking for ways to save. Space is not limited , amps are at this spot. I could do 9 lights and get 20 per run.. Or do 12 lights , have to use a bigger Ac , and get around 24 ps, and less work area . If box was bigger I would do more lights. But If most people had this size box they would run 9 lights in a smaller canopy, with walkways . And would yield
Less but have a better working area .

i am not good enough nor balsey enough to grow and get 2 ps in a 4x4. My nugs come out just as nice with 9k watts under 255 sq ft
