How big does the space in the plant lid need to be? Also, don't I need to have a bunch of water to mostly fill the 5 gallon bucket? I live in California and water isn't exactly cheap and my aunt/uncle (whom I live with) are pretty big hippies so they would hate for me to waste the water, so would I be able to do it in a smaller bucket? Could I maybe grow 2 plants out of the same bucket with one of those lids that has multiple spots or are those only for clones?
The little research I did on hydroponics said its harder for first time growers and I think I saw some water system with a spare bucket and stuff. I'll be growing in a 2x1.5x6 shed so I don't exactly have horizontal space to work with. I don't have any idea what an airstone is so could you please elaborate? Based on the name it sounds like some sort of air purifier or maybe it would soak up some of the heat in the shed to help regulate the temperature or maybe regulate humidity? I have no idea what that is. Also, what did you mean by the "DWC" after the colon following mentioning the airstone?
Lastly, since my grow space is so small, I would only do 1 or 2 plants (leaning towards 2 at the moment), would I still want a 300W + for LED's? I thought I read something that said you only need about 25W per square foot and the shed is only about 3.5 square feet so that would be 75W and since the actual wattage is about half of the advertised amount I was thinking of getting something along the lines of 150W LED's. And does the Red/Blue spectrum make any difference? I'm on a bit of a tight budget and I'm not going for the maximum amount of yield considering this is my first grow and its a very small grow.
Any advice or answers to the questions I asked would be really appreciated, thanks for the response.
