Screw In LED for Residential Lighting

Wondering what might be suggested for LED screw in to replace incandescent. Like over a work bench or workspace.

The fixtures can accommodate a 100W incandescent.

Thanks for any great ideas!

For the price, it is working just fine.

But if you are looking for the best 4' strips I have tested (this also includes the cobs I have @25watts), that would be Redbird LEDs strip-it kit. They are 155 lumen per watt and come in 22" (22 watts) and 46" (44 watts) @ 4100K. You can get one 44 watt 4 footer for around $80 and they come with a 10 year warranty. I have just started a 44 watt, 18"x18" scrog test. The grow is under high output led strips. These are the best for the incompetent DIYer:dunce:. The most you need to do is strip some wire and push into the shown hole. If you call them, say you saw them on Rollitup.

HomeDepot has 2 60w equiv. led bulbs for $5. Other wise Lights of America has a bright 40 watt 4 foot shop light for around $50. I am using if for vegging right now.
I think that was a limited run item. I haven't seen anymore of those two pack of philips bulbs back in stock at any of the home depots for a while. They were 2700k only, but they work rather nice for the price.

I usually spring for 3000k or 5000k Philips bulbs since the glass globe crees are getting harder to find.

That red bird looks cool. I'm just hanging work lights over a workbench. Would those work hanging like that? I imagine I would have to build a simple structure to attach the Redbird to?

Either you can find an old T8 fixture ( this is what they are designed to upgrade) to screw it to or you could just hang it with a little thinking. One four footer should be over a 1000 more lumen than 2 T8's.

Plug in a 40 watt cfl. If u want LED may be single led bulb or put 1 to 2 socket spliter and put 2 led bulbs from home depot
If u want to overkill this project....
For work light not much power like grow light. I prefer wide long light to avoid reflections.
My work bench light plan is to fix one or two Samsung SI-B8T341560WW strip $24ea on digikey
into a 3/4 in. W x 9/16 in. $11 Aluminum C-Channel or little wider 1in. W if possible.
Power supply Meanwell PLM-40-1050 $18 for single 22 inch long giving 24 watts 1000ma
Meanwell PLM-40-700 for 2x strip 44 inch long giving 34 watts at 700ma
Samsung strips are rated around 140 lumen per watt for 33 watts and should higher at my lower drive current.

However i am leaning towards 45 inches long strip with $36 1150mm LUXEON XF-3535L
Easier to install this strip with adhesive tape on its backside . More efficient
Can be pasted on any metal piece and runs cool enough on low currents.
I might even make a 96 inches long light with 2x LUXEON XF-3535L powered by PLM-40-500 at 36 watts

Why the PLM-40 driver? I like to dim the work lights
