best ph for soil grow?

just wondering what u ph ur water to when growing in soil this is my second grow , first from seed my last was a clone that i got off my friend and threw in a bubbler ...

You may want to test it just to make sure you're not starting with like an 8 or a 5, but once you add nutes, if you want to test the solution it should be around 7 or a little lower.

It's not as critical in soil as in hydro.

Best let your tap water stand for a day to let the chlorine evaporate out. Most tap water is going to have at least some chlorine in it unless you are on well water. O.ne day uncovered will get most of the dissolved chlorine out

i usually start my hydroponics with chlorine and base nutes and then midweek once the chlorines gone i add my fox farm nutes since they are organic

im thinking i may have a copper issue with my tap water tho ,, im not sure if you can see it in these pics but they side edges of my leaves curl up , not a heat stress curl or canoeing just the very edges do this

If your municipal water is treated with chloramine, as a lot of places are now since its more stable than free chlorine, you are wasting your time as it will never dissipate. R/O is the only way to get rid of it.

It is not an issue that will kill or hold your plants back, won't happen man. All that areation in the bucket dissipates it Ricky tick. And even if you didn't have the areation it would still be OK. Go ahead and try RO water and see what a pain in the ass it is to keep dragging that crap home or not having enough, you're soon see that tap water works fine. Cal mag issues account for about 1/3rd of all the complaints posted here. Don't close your mind off to it OK

chlorine and chloramine both are oxidized in a flash by just a dash of organic material. No need to be concerned with that. If youre obsessive add vitamin C or some aloe juice. But really it's not an issue in a soil grow.

Copper is possible but doubtful. I believe perhaps overly rich soil for young plant. Give it some time to adapt.

Umm, no chloramine doesn't dissipate, that is the point of my post. Google it, or not, you can drown in your ignorance for all I care.

I use R/O water, have a 200 gpd unit in my basement right next to my plants, don't need to haul water, that's for suckers. Tap water works fine too, chlorine is really a non-issue that noob weed growers make some big deal about for some reason. Fun fact, Cl is one of the essential micronutrients plants need to grow!

Fun fact #2 you could use a clue.

A bit of molasses added to tap water will tie up all the chloramine in a muni water sytem in minutes same with ascorbic acid and the stuff folks use for their aquarium. It doesnt dissipate, It complexes. Something like a tablespoon per gallon. Microbe man has the proportions on TLG pretty sure.

The point I was trying to make was you can't dissipate chloramine like you can chlorine, as previous posters were suggesting. I don't give a shit about you squirting lemon or aloe into your water, talk about fucking clueless...
