Turn tall skinny plant on its side..

Just a thought..

I have a lemon kush that is in a 1/4 gallon pot. She has just been hanging out for a while in veg. She is about two feet tall and single cola. About ten nodes. She's a beauty. I really don't have much use for her at the moment though. I have other cuttings being rooted and she doesn't really fit into the grand plan.

What happens if I put her in a 2 gallon pot then wrap the pot with cloth to keep the soil from falling out. Then I turn her on her side and tie down the top so it doesn't bend towards the light.. Will the side shoots rise up real nice then each produce colas?

I have a few plants in my green house...one day I was watering and the spray knocked a tree over...I just let it stay down...and shure enough the little bugger was going 6 more heads

How you gonna water it? Just knock some holes in the side with a hole saw?

i was gonna suggest a gradual bend with hemp ropes..........

Or maybe something like this? With some backfill after you drop the root ball in the modified 2 gal pot?

Why not simply tie her down.
Pull her down so she looks like a crawling vine.
It will be easier to water.

It will work.....but theirs easier ways to get more production from a plant......simple lst being one.....

Can you super crop a plant a couple inches up from its base? (base=where stem meets the soil) That might be interesting. Correct me if I'm wrong sunny but it sounds like you really don't want to fool with this other than maybe a transplant and some feeding?

Yes, indeed, if need be, you can tie her down/up and twist her to look like a pretzel...whatever your space will accept...

The plant would suffer if supercroping at the base(soil level)was carried out.....

Yea, I'll see if I can LST her enough to get her horizontal.. I get the point of supercrop near base then that would be my 90 degree bend. When I LST her she may end up getting supercropped any way SNAP!

Be gentle and bend only a little at a time in any given spot. The more you work, the more flexible she'll get. Newer shoots will be a lot more flexible than older stems. If you can just tip it over 45 degrees, you can then angle it so the light hits the whole thing evenly. This makes a nice carpet if done about the second or third week of bloom. Doing it earlier will result in taller colas.

I went for it!!! You've heard of supercropping and monstercropping. I call this stupidcropping :

1) I am pretty surprised how tall she grew in that little pot.
2) I had to top her to get her to fit.

It will be interesting to see if the fan leaves turn "up" and if the shoots grow straight up. I think that once they hit 4 or 5 inches I'll flip the lights and see what happens.

Nice work Sunny. I would imagine you already know this but I'll say it anyway...she's probably going to fight like hell to get back upright again. If it were me I'd be putting some weight on that top to keep her down. Maybe even a weight or two along the length of the stem incase she turns out to be the incredible hulk!!!

And since you've given this a name we can't stop there, lets just go ahead and build a whole new concept around it!!!I Imagine a entire "StupidCropping" grow area like this;

If you flip it now you'll like what happens. If you wait it won't be as interesting. Turning the plant sideways in the first couple weeks of bloom makes things very interesting!
