Paying trimmers

OK lesson learned here....I was paying hourly and was ending up finishing most of the plant myself.
I was thinking one day how they do it in the orchards...how they pay by the basket...soooo thats how I'm doing it. I went and got bowls that are all the same size and told the trimmers yesterday that I am now paying $20 a bowl. These same people I had trimming for me before..all of a sudden were flying threw these buds. 1 finished 4 bowls in 3.5 hrs, 1 did 2 bowls in 4 hrs, and the other 7 bowls in 6 hrs. What they cranked out before ...was well i wont even mention it , its embarrassing...hence why I was doing most the plant. I went from working 8-10 hrs on these trimming crew days to 4hrs.

But you have to mix the material up so that one person doesn't end up with all the popcorn. Varieties are problematic too. If you get some little running-bud-sativa, you may need to raise the pay/bowl or you will end up doing them yourselves. Also, this method gives them incentive to trim quickly but poorly.

Can you give them some meff?

Well when i used trimmers there were 6 -8 of them , 3 - 4 week.... TRIM TIME 800 pounds wet
we worked trimming usually round 7 hrs a day, that is when they started to get sloppy ...
There well known trimmers / friends we worked no more then 7 - 8 hrs a day with decent breaks in between, and my cost feeding and drinking them
Rented a Rental van to bring them onto location and to drive them away ( Drove into Garage as not so many neighbors would notice amount of people ) .. i myself usually was watching operation and outside, keeping area clean as they trimmed as well as smell control lol boiling cinnamon and cloves ..
as well as moved trimmed buds onto screens etc
From using same trimmers for like last 5 years they knew what was expected it had to be tight trimmed they were fast and efficient they new there shit ..
Anyways they also knew that they would get paid from the sales so product had to be good

So now the quality drops off, volume improves in the short term,

why not give them a cut of the action so you buy their loyalty too,

rather than treat them a short term laborers, or 'wetbacks'

thats why we russkies beat the greedy yanks every time Yeah!

No these new dry trimmers knock the work way down without any damage. They are very genteel. You cannot tell any difference between dry tumbled buds & hand trimmed. The machines just do it a hell of a lot faster...

I think by starting with the lower part of the plant the work gets
easier as you go which is a moral booster.
Instead of doing the fun shit when you are fresh and the irritating shit when your hurting in the shoulders

Its not like its gonna mature in the time it takes to harvest it.

Of course if you are racing against mold ya take the tops.

not only that but if you lose a few people along the way your not stuck
in larf for a week

say that.. and inspect thaand add incentive of paid./oze Then you see productiv jump for ea pr. o' scissors. by-the-lb same thing. instead of monotony of ass in chair for twenny/ now a skilled trim'r makes say 30/hr and gets it all done. ea person sets their own pace while doin as much as poss. mix som of the midstuff in to slo the speedy ones down a bit heh. So that's how my friend told me they did it in Oregon.

We pay 30/hr. And if someone isn't pulling their weight, or just trimming tops instead of popcorn, they usually hear about it immediately from some of the other guys. And then they don't get a call back for next time.

I have hardly any larf bc I popped the shit out of em.
I have the bonzai trimers so I deleaf with them, then trim them down as much as i can. The trimers just have to detail them a bit and get the fan leaf stems out.
I been harvesting for almost a mth now and Im about over it. Then on to the deck pots that are all over my living room:/ Then the indo:/ I never imagined this much its overwhelming as hell. I swear I could shut down the indo for a yr or 2 lol

I totally suck at trimming. Ain't tryin to get no better neither! Just my way. And I would hire a good trimmer in a minute and pay top dollar for results! That's just how shit works. I wouldn't be worth $7 an hour trimming. True.

At the end of the day it's all about the fire. That gets ya where ya need to be. :bigjoint:
