I happen to know a bit about customs in Western Europe. Up to 150€, they usually don t ask for VAT in France, although theoretically VAT is owed for any sum. Since most Chinese retailers undervalue their goods during shipment, small internet shipments are rarely controlled. In Germany there is a franchise of 23€, which is much better enforced - they open your package. But even there, if total sum of tax money owed is under 5€, you won't pay anything. In Switzerland, there is a not-so-well-known free trade agreement with china and only 8% vat, making things very sweet for ali shoppers.
Overall, it helps to inform yourself before buying anything abroad. Customs are usually very friendly before, and not-so-friendly afterwards....
If I am not mistaken, in the whole EU you have to (should) pay VAT on orders over 22€ and customs on orders over 150€.

And guys it's not that hard to avoid VAT from EU sellers too. I just don't see the difference between avoiding VAT from KB and Mouser (or whatever).

Sorry but....mouser include vat in their prices...kb don't!
So when you order from kb ask him to put a low price on the package (less than 150 €)
Big difference imo...you can avoid vat with Chinese seller!

Actually, every EU country has different import rules, mostly due to variable administrative costs. It's really worth it to contact local customs, and ask for pointers.

Thanks for the the clarification I really thought that it's same for the whole EU as the values are set in € and we don't use it.

Must be different in France than it is in the Czech Republic. For me, the prices are w/o VAT.

I was convinced that these rules apply for the whole EU. It really seems than it differs a lot. Sorry for leading astray.

Bonjour
I believe that my country is one of the most taxed in the world...
You pay all the time and for everything...you gonna say sex stay free!...but no...you pay for condom...if you know well the girl (man) you pay for contraception (pills, or something else...!)TAX TAX TAX
So if I can save some money in anyway...I go for it (I never pay train ticket)
Grow hemp in my country could send me in jail for 5 years and pay a big fine...so

Common misconception. I might be true in the EU (though belgium beats france with taxes), but worldwide, there are worse countries, when it comes to taxation. Most developping countries are very difficult; I remember a swede drilling wells in central africa explaining me how glad he would be to pay taxes instead of all the bribery he has to throw around annually...

These a just briliant times. I m surfing throuh nichia and ss databases. Around 15w hey have pretty nice chips. I wonder if a hybrid low power cob strip of 20 chips would be worth it. After all, spread cooling is much more efficient, especially on long alu profiles.

Yes, it seems a bit strange. I've bought a lot of stuff from TME over the years, never had this problem before. Must be some instruction from Citizen.

Bonjour
You mean Australia!??
I don't understand why...from where they are US or Australia are almost at the same distance...so why?

Bonjour
So if you are in Australia do you have the same problem to get beans...?
I have a friend who now live in Australia and we have to send him some...
Have a great day ★

Update 1: until now, I got only one serious offer. 45$ for citizen clu046 and over $60 for CLU056. Out of 10 inquiries, about half of the self called "led specialists" asked me what a reference number is good for, and if I would not rather send them a picture of the chip... Did not ask kingbrite though. Maybe jerry has better prices.

Bonjour

Why? You do not kill people after a good joint??? Or hurt women? Hit little children in the face....need blood....stole things...or act like you are in gta irl???

Bonjour
Thanks for the link @qwerkus but do you know why there is 2x+ and 2x- on the chip?
Like a + and a +*...!?
Is it to plug 2 different driver?
It is what I believe...and it looks very convenient if we could run both or one of each!
What do you think?
Have a great day ★
